How to Search Maps Question
This past weekend, I was reading about Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8. The text states that the Ethiopian was traveling from Jerusalem to Gaza. I was curious to find out the distance and how long this journey would take. However, when I tried searching my maps and resources, I came up with nothing. I didn't spend more than a few minutes searching because I didn't want trying to find this fact to distract me from my study.
I do have a fairly sizeable library, so I'm sure the answer in there somewhere. But where?
Is there an easy/quick way to search maps?
Is there a go-to map resource in Logos that you like best? I'd like to have a resource that I can quickly find a place on a map without sidetracking my study.
Thanks.

In theory, for your quick-look and don't interupt Bible study, the Lexham Geographic Commentary would be a good choice, linking to your Bible. However, the maps are unreadable, the right-click can't send to Powerpoint, and the Atlas click pulls up the wrong map (there is one for the Ethiopian Eunuch).
You can take serious time for media searches, but your best bet is your favorite Atlas? Mine is the Carta group.

There are several threads on the Atlas tool active right now. You might check them out.
They won't encourage you. [:(]

I second the Lexham Geographic Commentary. This is good too. Carta Understanding Series I Like the Holman Bible Atlas. I, too, like maps, geography and culture so this is fascinating to me.

Thanks. I'll take a look at the Lexham Geographic Commentaries. Carta is a bit expensive for me right now.

I did a Media Search, checking Charts and Maps, for the ethiopian church (no quote marks) and got good results in Carta, ESV Study Bible and other Study Bibles, with the ability to estimate distance.
The words used were a guess, but philip and ethiopian church also worked. No results from the Lexham Geographic Commentaries series and results with other places are poor. The Logos Deluxe Map Set is very good as you can easily scale the image with the mouse and the old Biblical Places Maps is useful.

I had never heard of a media search. Thanks Dave. This is very helpful.
