Kindle Fire support
Recently, my Kindle Fire 8 and 10 stopped working with the Logos Mobile App and told me that it was built on an older version of Fire OS and won't work properly until it's updated to the new version.
Is this going to be fixed sometime soon, or is Logos ending support for Kindle Fire?

I can't answer your question, but for clarification: When support ends for Kindle Fire 8 / 10 devices, it might continue for newer devices. Also note: Kindle Fire devices run a specialized version of android. Support will not be as good as either a normal android device or an iOS one.

According to the fine print I saw for DLing the Logos app for Fire, it requires Android 10 or later. In terms of Fire, that means FireOS 8, which is only available on 12 generation (introduced 2022) or later. To run on Fire 7 (and my Fire 10 is on 7.3.3.0), it would be limited to Android 9.
Personally, my Fire is a backup unit since I got myself a larger tablet for music reading, but it looks like the Logos version I have is still working on it.
That is the good news. The bad news is that it will certainly not get any software updates. That means it will not get any new features, and there is a chance that updated book files will no longer work with it. Eventually I will probably want to go with the web app instead of the Android/Fire one. \
We can either beg Logos for support of ancient Android versions, buy an updated version of a tablet, or go to the web app...

You need at least FireOS 8

Well, that's kind of a bummer. I have the Fire HD plus from 2021.
Everything was working fine until Monday at a guess. Which is weird. Either have to hope it's just a glitch that will be fixed in the next update. If not, I guess I gotta go back to the previous version of the app until it's no longer workable or go to the web app. Not buying a new tablet just for Logos.

Interesting quote from that web page: "We always give advance notice before we drop a version. By the time we announce we're dropping support for a version, most customers are using a supported device or operating system anyway."
When was support for FireOS 7/ Android 9 ended?
Where was this announced in advance?
I fully admit that the Fire tablets are low end almost disposable devices, but have most customers already replaced devices bought before 12 generation ones were released in the middle of 2022?

This is why some of us have made warnings about Fire devices. Logos does not develop for the Kindle Fire. They develop for Android. The Kindle Fire runs a modified version of Android and support for future versions is limited. Likewise, some manufacturers don't provide support for Android updates as long as users would like. I am not an Android user so take this with a grain of salt: If you don't want to buy an iPad (which will give you the longest support), your best bet is probably a Samsung device.

A lack of support for Kindle Fire is what led me to Logos. I used Olive Tree on my Fire for years and about 2 years ago they announced they'd no longer support their app on Kindle devices. I bought an iPad and after some further research decided to switch to Logos. It was frustrating at first, but I'm very glad it worked out that way. I prefer Logos over Olive Tree and the iPad over the Kindle Fire.
