Thanks Savanna
The release notes have:
Insights
- The insights panel will open by default in resources with no prior side panel settings saved.
I think I understand why this is being done but I'll find it unhelpful!
Is there any chance of being able to say "don't open it for all resources unless specifically requested" in a similar way to how we can with things like popular highlights?

I agree. I really don't want to have to close the panel all the time. A setting like Graham suggested is the way to go.

Same. The insights panel open by default would be annoying.

I can understand why it is done, but it should be restricted e.g. to open tabs or tabs in a layout.

To be clear, this means:
- When you open a Bible for the first time, the Insights sidebar will show up.
- When you close a Bible, the sidebar state will be remembered for the next time you open that specific Bible.
We took the view that a preference probably was not needed because the vast majority of users only open a very small number of Bibles, so it's easy enough for them to close Insights in each of those if it's not helpful. Once they do, they won't see Insights again.
If we were to bring Insights to other resource types, such as commentaries, we might need to change this approach because users will typically open many more commentaries than Bibles.

Thanks Mark
I'd forgotten for a moment that Insights is only currently available for Bibles - so I'm fine with this!
Apologies, Graham
