Resource updates on Android app
I'm no longer prompted to download resource updates at startup. It only happens when I open a resource that has an update available. This sometimes happens when I'm traveling, and only have mobile data available - which I really shouldn't be wasting on resource updates.
Is there a way to download all resource updates while connected to wi-fi? If not, that'd be a good feature to include.
(Don't revert it to a forced download though, as that'd cause a similar issue. It'd be best to make it optional to search and download all available resource updates.)

- What kind of device are you using?
- Are your downloaded books stored on the device itself or an SD card?
- How was your device connected to the internet when you made that screenshot?
- Are you able to simply ignore the prompt to update the book if it is not a convenient time?
That's not what's happening though - on all three devices that I have. See attached screenshot and log file.
Thanks for the screenshot and the logs, Jan.
We would like to investigate this further, but we need further information.
Great, thanks!
1st device:
Samsung Galaxy M31, books are stored on the device.
2nd device:
Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus, books are stored on SD card. That's the device from which I took the screenshot.
3rd device:
Meebook M6, books are stored on SD card
As far as I recall, I've always had a Wifi connection when opening Logos in the past couple of months.
As for your last question, I'm unable to replicate the update prompt now. If I go to the resource details, I can see that an update is available, but I don't get prompted to it automatically.
As I said, it happens on all three devices. Do you need a log file and screenshots from my Samsung to investigate? I've just tried, and th issue persists.
Jan,
From the screenshot that you posted - it looks as though you have Airplane Mode active - have you tried with Airplane Mode off?
Sure.
Jan,
We can't be absolutely certain about this, but your logs seem to indicate that the app is not connected to Wi-Fi long enough for the updates to complete.
When you are on Wi-Fi, please check for a progress bar in Library and wait for it to finish. Then exit the app and open it again.
We are looking at ways from our side to improve this process.
I don't think that's the cause. In that particular case, I might have rushed through the steps to create the log, but I've repeated everything and waited extra long on the library screen, and still no joy.
I've attached a new log.
Also, I suspect it to be an account related issue, since the same problem appeared on all three devices at about the same time.
OOps, forgot the log...
Ah, wonderful. Thank you Joe. I'll be waiting patiently.
