Syntax search for Verb Subject Object constructions
Hello, and thank you in advance. I am trying to do a search for sentence have the Verb, followed by its subject, followed by its Object. I can see how to do a syntax search when I'm using a particular verb, but I have no idea how to do a search where I want the results to reflect all verbes, and all subjects, and all objects. What I'm looking for is to see the frequency of the Verb, Subject, Object construction in any given body of work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael - and welcome to the forums
For this I would use a Morph Search - details at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017524952-Morph-Search
Try the string (assuming Greek)
This finds verbs Before Nouns in the Nominative (you might also want to include pronouns) Before Nouns in either the Dative or Accusative
Is this the sort of thing you were looking for?

Sir,
That's perfect. That is what I needed. I'll be able to take that principles for a myriad of other searches. I knew I was off base with Syntax search, but just didn't know the proper wording for what i was trying to do. Thank you. I truly appreciate your help.

That's great for Greek. How do you accomplish this in Hebrew where nouns are marked the same way? I assume then you need a syntax search, but how do you construct it?

Well, fair enough. I'm not a Logos 8 user either, but this is the thread I found discussing this topic.

Time especially Logos time moves on and the program changes. Any discussion on this subject from two versions of Logos ago and four years ago is likely to have been overtaken by events.
A new post in the Desktop Forum for Software Issues or the General Forum for Resource Issues will be most effective.
