Logos loading time

Is it normal now for Logos to take 20 seconds to load from a cold boot? It seems it was much faster than that previously, but wondering if this now the norm.

You would probably need to define 'cold boot'. I just quit and restarted Logos. Eight seconds ish from clicking the icon to fully open Home Screen

    MacOS 14.5 M3 silicon.

By cold boot, I mean the computer rebooted and starting Logos. I rebuilt the index thinking that would improve things, but it really didn't.

If anything that was actually faster about seven seconds.

I think it used to be that building collections slowed things down but have never had many of them.

That's the speed I was getting previously. Anyway, I thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone else had noticed a slowdown.

When you say 7 or 8 seconds, do I understand you correctly that you just closed down and opened again? If so, how is the speed after rebooting your computer?

In order to make my second reply I shut down the computer. Then I reopened the computer to the desktop - that took about 2 seconds after I had typed in my password (fingerprint recognition does not work straight after a restart).

Once I had the desktop I went to my taskbar and clicked on the 'Logos' icon about 7 seconds later the home page was showing and fully populated.

I notice this slowdown in loading time only when Logos is "Preparing Library" - otherwise I see between 6- 8 second from Open to loaded. (I open to a layout that has 8 resources and two guides fully linked - which can slow the load time a little)

My first open this morning took about 16 seconds, but that had a Preparing Library and then a supplemental index for one added book. After I allowed that to complete, I closed the application - then it took about 7 seconds to fully load.

I shut down Logos and restarted it, taking a whopping 5 seconds. It's after a reboot that I've been noticing the slower load, and just to the main page (no layouts).
