TNIV in my iPad library but not my desktop

Anyone know why the TNIV would show up on my iPad, but not on my desktop? I'm signed into the same account on both devices. And I don't have it hidden in the Program Settings. It was probably something that came over from my WORDsearch account, if that makes any difference.

Very strange indeed. I can't remember ever buying the TNIV but it also shows up on my iPad and in the webapp. It does not show up however on my Android phone and in the desktop app.

Edit: Could it be that the TNIV is a free Bible that is only included in some of the mobile apps?

I had the TNIV in WORDsearch, which is the only way it could be part of my current Logos library. I'm a relatively new Logos user, and everything I've purchased from Logos has been long after the TNIV was taken off the market.

Logos provides some free to access books in the mobile apps (and maybe in the webapp as well but I can't say for certain as I don't use the webapp often). These books don't belong to us, so they're not part of our libraries, and they don't show up in the desktop app.

This is an added twist. If it's supposed to be in your library via WordSearch, you should probably contact Customer Service to find out why it's not showing up on your desktop library.

In your Library window (Alt+L), go to the Devices facet and choose Not on this Device. Is the TNIV listed? I have had a few instances in which a download of a specific resource has gotten stuck. Let me know if it is stuck and we can work through how to get it unstuck.

I have it on my PC so it is not resource limitation per se. It could be something account related as you said up front. Does it show up in your Library window at all? What does it show when you go bring it up in the storefront?

There are a small number of "free to use" Bibles and books provided to users in the mobile and web apps. Our publisher agreements only permit us to offer these as online-only resources that can't be downloaded for offline access. The desktop application only supports downloaded offline resources, so these freebies don't show up there.

Are you sure that this agreement applies to the TNIV? Zondervan made a concerted effort to take this title off the market, and no publisher is allowed to sell it. I'd be very surprised if Zondervan wants it distributed in any form.

Your initial inquiry has been answered, but I am curious about this part. I never owned this software. Did these things get migrated to Logos? If so, perhaps you are entitled to a license of the TNIV... but perhaps they weren't allowed to do so.

Yes, every imported WORDsearch customer who owned 0-5519 (in WS) was granted a license to LLS:TNIV (in Logos).

The OP has many licenses imported from WORDsearch but not that specific ID. We relied on the license information that Lifeway provided us at the time of the migration.

A friend of mine who doesn’t like any NIV translation called the NIV and the TNIV ”The Twisted Sisters!” 😂😂😂 I know the TNIV was not the best translation, but it’s still useful for illustration purposes 👍😁👌

So, I checked an old WORDsearch backup and I didn't own the TNIV. Which means I must have it on mobile for the same reason every other Logos user does.

I heard all of the buzz around the TNIV when it came out but have never actually read it myself. I'd be interested in it for historical reasons too. I was never a fan of the NIV84, but the NIV2011 improved it significantly, and I now use it as my default version for sermons. It would be interesting to see where the TNIV falls between the two especially in some of the non-controversial areas where there are significant differences.

EDIT: Wow I didn't catch that part where all of us have access to it on the web app. I'll have to look it over sometime when I have free time (ha ha). Or maybe I'll make it my Bible-to-read for 2025.
