BUG: Resource Favorites sidebar
Why do I have to use Add to display the Favorites for that resource e.g.
- open a book from the Favorites tool
- open the Favorites sidebar
- only the Application > Quick Links folder is shown
- open Add menu and click on the entry under Open panels
- it creates that entry in the Favorites tool and adds it to the sidebar, then
- it adds the existing Favorites folders/entries for the resource to the sidebar.
The author entry is created.
The folder entries for the book are added from the Favorites tool.
The book was opened from the first folder entry, so i have to delete the created entry.
When I next open the book the Favorites entries are missing.
I don't have to do any of this to see the Favorites in my ESV bible.

Dave,
I initially experienced the behavior you described, but I cannot reliably duplicate it. I will investigate further.

Thanks for looking at this, Joe. Another bug (I think) is that if I try to organize a favorite from the resource favorites sidebar in the full favorites tool by moving it into a different folder, it disappears from the resource favorites sidebar. Is this behavior intentional?

I would hope not but I do think it is intentional.

It is not consistent. I no longer see the Favorites in my ESV bible and I can reproduce the above behaviour (in Logos 36.0) with "Reopen closed tab".

Dave,
I can reproduce this bug, most of the time, but not every time.
I have opened a ticket so we can investigate further.

Aaron,
This is another aspect of the same bug that Dave has reported. We will continue to investigate this issue.

Joe, I really appreciate the reply and the confirmation of the bug. I wasn't sure if it was the same problem or not. Knowing that it's being worked on provides peace of mind.

Is there an update on this? I am very much looking forward to using the resource favorites sidebar, but the fact that it does not work together well with the main favorites tool means it will not benefit my workflow until the bugs are fixed.
Every favorite I add from the resource favorites sidebar adds a new favorite to the main favorites tool. If I try to organize these bookmarks/favorites in the main favorites tool, they disappear from the resource favorites sidebar. The inability to properly organize these favorites results in my main favorites tool getting extremely cluttered. This means that for the time being it seems one must choose between one or the other: the main favorites tool or the resource favorites sidebar. But I look forward to the day when I can fully utilize both. Thank you [:)].
