NEW FEATURE: Get Started Top Bible Card

One of the most important things you can do when using Logos for the first time is to let Logos know which Bible you prefer to use. Located in the Get Started section of your Dashboard, the new Top Bible card makes that process simple and quick.

This feature is available on Desktop now and will be coming to Web soon. This feature requires a license to access it. Please join this Faithlife group if you'd like to participate in testing the Top Bible card.

Maybe the image really wasn't there at the time you checked, but there's also a problem with the forums where images seem to disappear and reappear randomly. Forums in a peekaboo mood recently.

She actually changed it ... it was appearing as an attachment which when opened was not visible in a black field. I normally remove such posts when the problem is corrected but not if it has children.

You should clarify that it "only shows if you have less than two prioritized Bibles", but does it also check for "first time"?

Thanks, Dave. Yes, the card's display logic does account for "first time" views along with dismissal preferences.

If a user has never seen the Top Bible card (no preference for display has yet been saved), it will display unless a user has 2+ prioritized Bibles. If the user has 0 or 1 Bibles prioritized, the card will display.
If the user has seen the Top Bible card and has a preference that it should display (they have not dismissed it via "X" in corner), it will display regardless of how many Bibles are prioritized.
If the user has seen the Top Bible card and has a preference for it not to show (they have dismissed via "X"), the card will not display regardless of how many prioritized Bibles the user has.

I do not see the Top Bible card but your screenshot shows it under Get Started
Currently, I see "What would you like to do today" under that heading and it It is controlled by the Dashboard option Show > Get Started Card.
Does your screenshot reflect reality because there is no "X" in the corner of the Top Bible card?
Show > Get Started Card does not reflect the card it controls in my app.

That's right. If the criteria for displaying is met, the card will show up in the Get Started section of your Dashboard.

Currently, I see "What would you like to do today" under that heading and it is controlled by the Dashboard option Show > Get Started Card.

It seems that my reference to dismissal preferences in my previous post created some confusion. Sorry about that.

The dismissal preference for this card is saved behind the scenes, because it relies on specific criteria to display (unlike the Get Started Wizard card, which is controlled by Show > Get Started Card). A dismissal preference is saved for the Top Bible card once a user clicks the dismissal "X" (yes, dismiss). A dismissal preference (do not dismiss) is also saved when the dismissal "X" is present but the user has not clicked it.

The original screenshot in this post does not display the "X" dismissal option because I hadn't yet prioritized any Bible. Once I prioritize at least one Bible, the "X" will display, allowing me to dismiss the card.

I don't like the use of the same name for the whole section as for one block in the section. This sort of thing makes it difficult to explain things clearly without a lot of words clarifying which you mean this time.

Show > Get Started Card is confusing because it does reflect a specific card. The Help Center Card also appears under the heading Get Started, but has its own option.
