Progam Options sync across devices (Desktop / Win 11)?

How do I backup / restore Program Options settings across multiple desktop devices? No, the built-in Logos sync features doesn't cover Program Options, it seems (at least it didn't work for me). It seems that Logos stores all its files in:

%localappdata%\Logos\

Which files(s) do I need to backup/restore manually? Thanks

I would not recommend trying to override the automatic syncing.

I'm not sure what you are attempting with Program Options (Tools > Program Settings?) vs. "Logos sync features" , but do not attempt to manage them locally, and definitely not across different installations.

I'm not 100% sure of your goal - but the way we handle backup and restore of our installs on Linux is backing up the Data, Documents and Users folders within the directory you posted. Then copying those directories over to the new install.

You are absolutely right Frank, that when running the app in unsupported manners, it is good to have your own backups.

It sounds like since sync does not sync program settings across desktop installations, Corey is wanting to find the file which has the desktop settings saved in it and move it to other installations of Windows so that he doesn't have to change the settings on each manually.

If this is the case, then this seems like much more trouble than it's worth, since Logos doesn't have too many settings in the first place. It would be easier to simply take a picture of the desktop settings and then go to each device and change them.

I'll give this a try and see if this transfers program settings.

Manually comparing a screenshot is a lame way to go about any backup solution, so I avoid that where possible.

Many of the program settings do sync to different installations. There are some that do not, typically ones that you might be expected to want to have different on a different installation with potentially different hardware.

If you copy those 3 files (Data, Documents, Users) to another installation you could have two installations that will maintain their resource libraries in sync (I last tried that about 6 years ago). The only other noticeable difference was the Scaling (from Program Settings), because I had different monitors. So this  works really well as a backup/restore for the original installation and can be use for a new installation only if the original will be removed.

Manually comparing a screenshot is a lame way to go about any backup solution, so I avoid that where possible.

If you perform a new install normally, there will be Program Settings that need attention compared to your original installation because Logos insists on its defaults, and some (like Scaling) that you may want to change anyway. But you have a good backup/restore solution for the original installation as it will also avoid downloading and indexing your library.
