Logos.com Author Search Problem

I know that the search on logos.com was somewhat recently updated. As part of that update, we lost the highly-valued search count so that search results were supposedly better. Have we now also lost accuracy?

I found this book by Merrill C. Tenney, New Testament Times. I don't own it and I was curious if there were other books by Tenney that I don't own. I clicked on his name then filtered by "unowned" and "English". The only options presented to me were two research library packages. The book I originally found was not even listed. No individual books were listed at all unless I removed the English filter then I see individual Spanish-titled books.

Is there a reason author search is not working?

I'm pretty sure we did lose accuracy. I think other users mentioned that it various ways. I also noticed yesterday that the author search did not give me meaningful results.

I currently do not enjoy searching on logos.com and try to avoid it unless I know the specific title of the book I'm looking for. I am disappointed with the changes that have been made recently, as searching on logos.com used to be a nicer experience for me. That's not to say that it used to be perfect. Only that it has gotten worse (for me).

Same here. I think the time spent ruining user experience on logos.com could've been better spent elsewhere.

Agreed. It does concern me when Logos considers this new web search to be an improvement. They rolled it out and it's been far less useful to search the store.

Because of this, I'm suspicious of what "improvements" will come with the subscription. For example, I like the simplicity of the non-subscriber toolbar compared to the complexity of the updated subscriber toolbar.

I understand your thinking here, but I think the new toolbar has potential to be a significant enhancement once people get used to it and it matures beyond its current infancy stage. I wish I could say the same thing about searching logos.com, but from my limited understanding their best solution might be to toss their current implementation of search and try again with something new.

logos.com search is broken since that change some weeks ago, but some things are more broken than others. Especially the "unowned" filter is so bad I nearly never use it anymore. The order by relevance is totally unreliable (except that it inevitably brings meaningless mega-bundles on top), so I typically will search ordered by price, which will bring individual books first and bundles later: https://www.logos.com/search?filters=author-11567_Author&sortBy=PriceLow&limit=60&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=all&useFuzzySearch=false&viewMode=list I tend not to include languages in the search, since the shop metadata are sometimes incomplete (i.e. not all English language books are tagged as English language in the store, since I can't select "all minus Spanish", I'd rather scroll over the few Spanish books than miss the English ones.

In fact, rather than using the store, in case of an author search I'll probably use the add-to-library search from within Logos. Here I can find the same author when he/she is spelled differently in the store, and language tagging is complete (14 English, 4 Spanish for Tenney: I get result counts, too!)

Agree, as above. But my impression is, the pack is off on another hunt (subscription and/or new forum).

Today's experience was 3 books all alike (plus a facimile version too). The 3, all research editions. The cheaper 2 work with Logos ... the expensive one not so sure (missing his Logos certificate). I just wonder if indeed, 3 database records.
