BUG: Book opened with old style toolbar

Lukaszewski, Albert L., Mark Dubis, and Ted Blakley. The Lexham Syntactic Greek New Testament, SBL Edition: Sentence Analysis. Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2011.

I was making a manual bibliography of the 6 or so books in this series, and this book opened in the old format.

Ah, back to the Logos adage "simplify through complification" [8-|] I do see why some resource types would be their own subproject ... just don't leave the project a half-done mishmash. It is disorienting to suddenly hit a different tool bar in the midst of the big project.

I thought this was the "dynamic" resource toolbar. Just omit the parts that are not applicable and it should take care of the rest.

This is not good enough. Either there's a new toolbar (which is configurable in the software, but not for users, so it's compulsory) - then it must apply to all kinds of resources and other tabs where the toolbar is applicable - or there is not. Just think of new users coming in through the subscription model or as new students or seeing the light of using a really powerful bible software etc.: how should they learn where to expect which function to be?

Logos is filled with the type of issues that plague all software startups in a quickly developing environment. I had hoped new ownership would bring the discipline of a mature company including don't start a project until you have figured out how to complete it (as opposed to the jump first, think second approach). You have just destroyed any hope I had of less myopic, more consistent, more integrated software.

Logos is filled with the type of issues that plague all software startups in a quickly developing environment.

The problem is that Logos is a 20 year old company with millions of users who rely on it for day to day work. A user interface that is inconsistent and frequently changing wastes the user's time trying to figure out how to do something with a deadline looming to prepare a sermon or lesson. Most users just want to get basic tasks done quickly and don't want to keep relearning how to do these things.

I have nothing at all against them testing things out in beta. In fact, I think it's very helpful. Imo, Logos should in general leave new features in beta longer, especially something so large and impactful as the new dynamic toolbar. In my view it would be irresponsible to release it in a stable version when it hasn't even been integrated across all resource types.
