Help please - entering Greek text into BDAG reference box

How do I enter a word in Greek for a quick search in BDAG using the reference box at the top of the book pane? Under Libronix 3 I just used the F2 key to toggle between keyboards, then typed in the word, and BDAG would take me straight to the relevant lexical entry. I can't figure how to do this in Logos4.

I realise that by clicking on the search button and typing G:searchword I can pick off individual greek words from a list, but I want to know how to just type in slabs of Greek straight off.

Hey Sam,

Hitting "Alt +Shift" toggles between English, Greek and Hebrew. You can also set up hotkeys for he various Greek and Hebrew Keyboards available on Logos site but if you don't want to do that, alt shift works fine.

Alt + Shift isn't doing it for me. Is there something else beside Alt shift I need to hit to get the language toggle going?

Hi Sam

It's possible that this is not set up on your system.

From Control Panel select "Clock, Language, Region" and then "Change Keyboards or other input methods"

From the "Keyboards and Languages" tab press the "Change Keyboards..." button and then look at the Advanced Key Settings tab.

This is where the key sequence for the toggle is set.

(The above Control Panel selections for Windows 7 - may be different on other versions of Windows.)

If you want to use the Logos keyboard layouts, instead of the ones that ship with Windows, you'll have to install them first. They can be found here: http://www.logos.com/support/downloads/keyboards

The advantage to letting the operating system manage keyboards instead of the application is that you can learn one keyboard layout and use it with any Unicode application (including Word, Notepad, WordPad, Internet Explorer, etc.).

Thank you to Robert, Graham and Vincent. I'm now up and running with a customised key combination to jump into my Logos Greek keyboard.

I realise now that swapping language keyboards is a system level issue - I spent a lot of time delving through support files and videos on the Logos website and couldn't find anything remotely helpful. Without the forum I don't think I would have been able to get a solution for this one. I hope other users don't find figuring how to use Greek and Hebrew keyboards in Logos4 a frustrating process.

Sam,

L3 had the same issue...how to type in Greek...and I used the same fix...using the Logos keyboards....at least on L4 the option of just "type like it sounds" works pretty well...
