Subscription Q: Chance for a new "library loan" feature?

Will the coming subscription model include a 'library loan' function? By which, I mean, would there be a way to 'check out' a book from the Logos selection that one does not own (maybe by month). It seems like it would add a lot of value to the subscription model (beyond the tools made available) and incentivize those like myself (beginning career academic) to buy a subscription and make wide and varied reading more accessible.

No. But you can purchase any book(s) and return within 30 days - standard FL satisfaction policy.

Note that the books in your subscription are accessible for as long as you subscribe (although FL occasionally retire and replace books). But it would be best to buy books you markup extensively e.g. with Notes, Highlighting.

The caveat on this is you can only return a book once. If you purchase it a second time you can’t return it for a refund a second time.

Library loan? No thanks! Buy a group license so you can assign the book to someone for a short period of time, but no loaning. Bad idea!

I think that loaning could be a thing but it would still attract a cost. I use a service called Everand. It is, they say, like Netflix for books. I can read, and listen, from a very large selection of books which I don't own, I still need to pay a fee which pays the publisher and the service provider.

I also think that purchasing a book, and reading it, with the intention of returning it would be against the spirit of the returns policy.

It really is! I understand that the 30-day return is if you buy something expecting something and it doesn't meet your expectations. In some cases, the store doesn't offer a satisfactory preview of the book before you buy. In other cases, we buy a book by mistake and have time to refund it. That's when I use them. I would never think that he would read half or all of the book and then return it.

I agree with PJ that such a feature would be very useful, at least to some people.

Logos offers some limited number or books and small collections here:

So in my view it would be very good if it was possible to rent any resources or libraries.

I've asked a similar question here some time ago, and hopefully Logos will consider providing the possibility to rent (or try for a fee) any resources.

The subscription FAQ includes this (emphasis mine):
You’ll still be able to buy permanent access to Logos libraries and any other books from our catalog. To purchase the latest libraries you will need to subscribe to Logos, however our Legacy Libraries will be available to everyone. In the future, we may add rental options for those who want it, but we don’t foresee a time when we’ll stop selling permanent licenses to books and curated libraries.

So there is a chance that this possibility will be available (which will definitely be useful to some people).
