Bug: Changing view percentage in Program Settings does not affect resource

There has been an annoying bug in the view settings that has been around for many years.

When I open a layout or new resource, sometimes it does not adopt the Content Scaling setting chosen in Program Settings. Changing the Content scaling does not change the view of the resource. The only way to get the resource to sync with the content side in Program Settings is to follow these tedious steps:

Change Content Scaling under Program Settings to 100%
Change the Zoom setting in the errant resource to anything other than 100%
Change the Zoom setting in the errant resource to 100%
Change the Content Scaling under Program Settings to the desired percentage

I have to go through this little dance nearly every time I change layouts or open a new resource. I also change the Content Scaling in settings when I change from using my laptop with a large external monitor to the built-in laptop screen.

The more consistent behavior that I would like to see is:

When a resource or layout is opened, Logos would set the view to all resources to the Content Scaling setting in the Program Settings.
When I change Content Scaling, all resources would change to the new setting.
If I choose to override the setting of an individual resource, that setting would remain for that resource until I close the resource. If I later reopen that resource, the setting under Program Settings would be used.

Harry, in the course of discussing this with the team, I learned that on Mac, the keyboard shortcut cmd+0 [zero] in a book panel will set the zoom level to the current Content Scaling setting, even it's something other than 100%. That doesn't seem to be the case on Windows, so I've created a case to fix that.

I also change the Content Scaling in settings when I change from using my laptop with a large external monitor to the built-in laptop screen.

Pro tip:
If you didn't know, you can set toolbar shortcuts for this, so you can quickly change your Content Scaling without having to open Program Settings.

In the "Go" box on the upper left of the app (a.k.a. command bar), type the command set content scaling to 120 (or your preferred scaling), but do not execute the command.
In the suggestions dropdown click and drag the command to the shortcuts bar.
Customize the shortcut name, icon, or folder if you wish.

This is operating as designed. The command and the setting both change the default size. However, if you have overridden that with the panel settings, then the override setting will be used for that panel. You can reset this back to default by explicitly changing the panel setting to the current default. If your panel is already set to the default (most likely because you changed the default to a new value), you will need to change it to something other than the default, then change it again back to the default. After this, that panel should respect any changes to the default value in the settings.

I understand that if I have resources open and manually change the view for a resource, that will override the default.

Here are the situations that bother me:

If I open a saved Layout, the resources do not adopt the current default Content Scaling setting for the program. The Zoom setting for each resource is saved with the Layout.
When I open a resource, it uses the previous Zoom setting for the resource, rather than the current default Content Scaling.

Thus, whenever I open a new resource of Layout, I always have to go through and manually change the Zoom settings for the resource

I would like to see the following changes:

When a resource or Layout is opened, it would use the current default Content Scaling in Program Settings, Without this behavior, the default setting is meaningless, since resources ignore it when they are opened.
For clarity, change the language in Program Settings from Content Scaling to Default Content Scaling. Just calling is "Content Scaling" leads to confusion about why the setting is not taking effect.
Add a button in Program Settings to change all open resources to the Content Scaling setting. This would remove the confusion about why changing the setting sometimes does not work.

You can reset this back to default by explicitly changing the panel setting to the current default.

One thing I do like about the new Resource Toolbar is that there is a numeric value for the Zoom setting. I used to have to guess which tick mark to set a resource to so that I could get it to sync with the current Content Scaling setting.

If your panel is already set to the default (most likely because you changed the default to a new value), you will need to change it to something other than the default, then change it again back to the default.

I have to do this little dance every time I change from internal laptop display to an external monitor or classroom projector or start teaching a class on Zoom and every time I change to a new layout or open a resource.

It would certainly help save time if a similar shortcut were available in Windows. A Reset button next to the Zoom setting or a Reset all Resources button in the Program settings would also be good.
