BUG: Unneeded work in visual filter

1) have a visual filter turned on in a resource

2) open the visual filter - Logos 4 deletes and redisplays the filter marking

While changing a filter show cause a clear/redisplay of the item changed, there is no reason that merely opening the file should cause a delete/rebuild. Note I have tested this only when I have multiple filters showing and at least one other filter was already opened.

    I'm not able to reproduce the problem. Can you give me details of your visual filter and the resource(s)?  A log file generated when the behavior occurs might be helpful, too. Thanks.

    The highlighting of word frequency was off the screen for approximately 3 seconds - the screen shot of that filter is incomplete but gives a sense as its contents.

    Thanks for the examples. I created a duplicate of your "Greek parts of speech" visual filter and reproduced the problem you're seeing.  I'll submit a report to see if this is by design or a bug.

    Tip: Each line of your filter is another query. If you have two things you want to style the same, you should be able to improve performance by putting them into one query:

    @C OR @D OR@P

    ...for example.

    Wow, looks like we need to request that Exporting work with Visual Filters as well. I'd never imagined one that would be so time consuming to recreate myself, but this one looks useful!

    Bob is right that there is a more efficient way to do this. But I change the marking on a word as my confidence improves - from I should know it to I know it in stem form to I recognize most forms to I don't even have to think about it any more. I am working on building a similar set of lists for the LXX. I have 7 such files with decreasing frequency of use for the NT.

    I would like very much to be able to share filters. Bob - if you provide the mechanism, I'll provide the file[:)]

    However, there are also cases where I'd like to share the text markup as well, for example, my markings of types of parallelism as per Berlin's classification scheme. I'm getting antsy about several features that I built my own content for in L3 - parallel passages and time lines being the ones driving me nuts at the moment.
