Feature: Print Library Catalog

it's just hidden because the search template panel is taking up too much space. Is there a toggle for hiding the latter? I can't find it.

There's a sidebar button on the search panel just like on resource panels, in the top left of the panel, sometimes called the hamburger menu.

Are you upgrading to L10 straight from L7? We've had search templates since L8 I believe.

Can you please highlight this functionality [right clicking an individual title to search only in it] in the introduction and help on Print Library Catalog. For research tasks I often want to know the specific page on which author X discusses concept Y in title Z. Previously I have used google books, but their 'search inside' feature is patchy. The introduction to Print Library Catalog made me think I could do this, but then I was pulling up results from concept Y (search term Y) in every print and electronic resource I have in the library - way too much to scroll through. The PLC search of individual resources is really helpful since subject indexes at the end of print books are often incomplete. 

Syncing between Mobile & Desktop App

Is anyone else having a problem to see print books added via the Mobile App ISBN scanner which don't then appear in the Desktop App? If I add them manually in the Desktop App, they appear on the Phone in the Print Library Catalogue, but if I add them on the Phone, they don't appear in the Desktop App after syncing.

Print Library Catalog is truly a great feature to add. But ...

I now have v. 27.2.21 of Logos (the latest version to 9 Aug 2023 at least), but alas, I do not have a purchased feature set. Apparently this Logos feature <Print Library Catalog> is ONLY available to purchasers of a Gold Package or above, or to purchasers of a Full Feature Upgrade package. For me, with dynamic pricing, the latter will cost $788 USD and the former $1,516 USD. Yet I do not want or need 99% of the resources or features provided with those two options. I am a loyal Logos user with over 2,200 individually selected titles purchased over many years. Yet as a theological educator, my print library is actually larger than that; I would love to have this feature. It seems unfair that one has to outlay huge expenditures for many titles/features that are simply NOT wanted or needed, in order to get 1 feature that one does want.

Is there any plan to allow for Customized Feature purchases or upgrades? I see that the Full Feature Upgrade lists the "value" of the Print Library Catalog feature as approx. $50 USD as a full value item. I would be willing to pay $50 USD for this feature, but not $788 or $1,516 USD. It does seem in the feature lists that one can apparently purchase other features for $0.00 USD, but apparently not this item (Print Library Catalog). Can that change, so that this feature is available to all users (even for a small fee)??

Inside Logos, I can search for Print Library Catalog in the Logos Help menus. Yet, the Logos help menu implies that the feature should be available to me. However, it isn't. Logos help features should point out if a feature is available to the user or not, and should specify not just as is done above (e.g. at the very bottom of Ali Pope's original post: "This feature is available in Gold packages and above"), but rather "This feature is ONLY available in Gold packages and above, or to purchasers of the "Full Feature Upgrade". This should also appear at the TOP of articles like the original post above, not right at at the bottom. The present advertising is not sufficiently clear or accurate. It is also misleading. As mentioned the Logos help feature inside the Windows App does not mention the feature is NOT AVAILABLE to me, nor how I could get it. Likewise the Print Library Catalog video from Logos does not mention it is NOT AVAILABLE to ALL USERS. This, too, is misleading.

There would be a huge benefit to Logos if you knew all the books a person owned and could target advertising to them with books that are missing in their library. (NB: Although it would also be a privacy issue for many, for which an opt out option would be advisable as far as targeted advertising, and searching one's private print-library list is concerned). Is there a plan to make features like Print Library Catalog available to ALL Logos users?

PS - I inadvertently posted this to the Mobile App forum (https://community.logos.com/forums/p/210493/1226426.aspx#1226426). However, I am a (Windows) Desktop app user of Logos, and have re-posted here with a couple of small edits.

I agree Rick W. But it seems as though this feature is part of a base upgrade package and cannot be "broken up." I would like to see this open without it being in a base package. 

I was expecting the print library results to show up in the Commentary Guide.  That is how I've been getting to resources in sermon prep.  Could there be a "Print Library" category there? 

I would love to see that as well. Now, my print library items do not show up in the passage guide sections. Only under Collections, I can do a specific search on my print library items. 

For example, I would expect a printed version of a Textual Commentary to show up under Commentaries. 

Any suggestions?

Has this idea gone anywhere? I also have libib and hundreds of books I'd love to integrate with Logos.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I saw that Logos was "gathering interest" on the ability to batch import your print library into Logos through a csv (or some file like that). 

I was wondering if that batch import functionality ever gained enough interest to move forward.

The print library feature sounded fantastic, but after I started adding books, I found out that the search results did not work in any of the normal searches through your library. You had to do a special search, which only searched print library titles.

so here is my question: Will any of the new AI features be able to search my entire library along with my print library? (But not the entireLogos library)

Yes, with the new Logos, you can switch to a Books search, Smart mode (new AI-assisted search), and choose Print Library from the search collection. If I understood the question?

Thanks for the response. You just illustrated the problem better than I did. The dropdown menu forces you to choose between "Your Books" (which really means Logos books), and "Print Library". Why am I not able to search my entire Logos Library AND my Print Library in the same search?

The Print Library feature would be very useful if a person could search ALL of their books in the same search.

Wow, so you can get a smart search synopsis from the results found in the books that you don't own?  That's amazing.

John, unfortunately you cannot add print library books to a collection, or any guide.
