BUG: Swiping books left or right goes away

I often like to swipe left or right to go to books that are open to the left or right, respectively. Sometimes, this capability goes away. I haven't noticed a pattern to what causes the behavior.

I'm on the latest Android with the latest Logos mobile app.

That's interesting. I wanted to post about a bug that does the opposite, but might very well be related. I have "scroll View" deactivated, so a one-finger swipe goes to the next page, but a two-finger swipe goes to the book on the left/right. But sometimes even a one-finger-swipe takes me to the next book instead of to the next page. The only way to fix this is to terminate and restart the app. After experiencing this for a while, I have now discovered what triggers it: It's changing the orientation of the phone, so putting it from portrait to landscape orientation. Putting the phone again the other way, does not fix it, I do have to terminate the app.

I'll send logs by email with a link to this post.

I see a difference when I change the Scroll View option. When it's off, swiping left or right changes the page in the book. When Scroll View is on, swiping changes the resource.

I'm using Android 11, with the latest version of Logos Mobile (I think I'm in the beta group).

I have had this exact problem too. Besides changing the phone orientation, I think I have had something else trigger it too, though I can't remember what. Force stopping the app is the only way to fix it.

Update: After I sent logs I got a couple of emails from Joe saying that he can reproduce and they will fix it in a future release. Not sure if that also covers Lew's problem.

@Lew: Have you tried a two-finger swipe when the problem shows up?

I'll try it next time it occurs.

My problem seems to be taken care of in the latest Beta on Android! Thank you everyone at Faithlife!

(Also thanks for another improvement, that I had hoped for, but never got around requesting it: When the menu is minimized, the active Bible reference is still shown. Before, I always had to bring up the full menu when I wasn't sure what chapter I was in. Really thankful that even for people spending very little there is continual improvement to the mobile app!)
