Hello

Can someone explain me why there is no URL, Search, Text?

In this case I cannot link to an inflected form.

Thanks.

The Copy (Kopieren) button is active and copies the text.

What would you expect a URL to do this in this case?

When you use it on a Lemma, the URL links to a BWS on that lemma - but because we can't run a BWS against an inflected form it wouldn't make sense to do that.

I can search for the inflected form, via the right click. So it makes no sense to me why there is no URL so I can copy it and paste the search in Word.

In Accordance this is possible. I guess it should be possbie in Logos too.

In this case it will be always a two step process. Not ideal.

Maybe I have to explain better.

In Accordance you can do a search for an inflected word. Then click in the search entry box and copy the search query as link. If you paste it in Word and use it. It opens the same resource with the same search query.

    Thanks.

As far as I know this functionality hasn't been provided in Logos

In Accordance you can do a search for an inflected word. Then click in the search entry box and copy the search query as link. If you paste it in Word and use it. It opens the same resource with the same search query.

    This is helpful context.

I think you are describing an Inline Search (in Logos terminology).

I think the copy functionality in Logos is designed to do something different to what Accordance provides.

If you look at how it works for the lemma, there are three copy options:

    1. URL: Copies a URL that can be used to generate a BWS on the lemma
    2. Search: Copies a string that can be used as a search term for the lemma
    3. Text: Copies the actual text of the lemma

So it doesn't provide a "copy to run a search" option.

And mapping that to an inflected form, the only thing that is provided is the ability to copy the actual text - which could then be used as a search term if required.

So I think it's simply that the Logos team were providing something different to what is provided in Accordance.

But I may be missing something!

I think you are right, this is a multistep process in Logos. When you do a search from the manuscript form in Logos, it does kind of a dumb search for that word (eg ἐπλήσθη). If you select the morphology in the context menu, it will generate a search for the inflected form (lemma.g:πίμπλημι@VAPI3S--). But if you get a URL from the morphology, it defaults to just searching for all instances of that morphology (@VAPI3S--) rather that looking for a form of that particular lemma (and the URL doesn't work at all right now, which I just reported as a bug).

Right now, you have to right-click, select the morphology, run the search, and then get the URL from the search pane. If I was doing this very often, I could see how it would be annoying. It might be a good idea to make a feature request.

One can't build a search without defining what corpus one wishes to search. Pick the appropriate search and pick up the URL from the search panel.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks. This is possible too in Accordance, just delete the Bible abbreviation in the link.
