iOS Log In has Wrong Email address

I’m using Logos for Ios on iPad and iPhone. The program frequently prompts me to login, but it uses an old email address. I do not see a place to change the email address in the login screen. I have logged in on the website for faith life using the new email address, but the applications on my devices continue to prompt with the old email. it is aggravating to have this pop up so frequently and not allow me to enter the correct address.

    I found a place in the application where it says account and it has my old email address. I clicked that and it took me to a faith life website where I entered my new email and password.

    It said that my application needed to be authorized and I have clicked authorize and then done. I have done this multiple times, and I am still being prompted for, my old password to my old email address in the application. I have spent over $6000 on Logos over the past 20 years and this is extremely aggravating.

    I'd work it out with Customer Service as on the forums we have no way of seeing how your account login got separated from your email/login.

    Can you uninstall the iOS app and install it again? It sounds like a bug on that end.

    It looks like you are posting on the forums with at least two Logos.com accounts. You will need to contact Customer Service so they can merge your accounts together (with the right email address) so all your ebooks are unlocked under a single account.

    The mobile app does not have the ability to switch accounts. As Justin suggests, you need to delete the app in log in with your correct email.

    You should also do this if you have any purchases in the old account.

    I understand what all of you are saying.

    All my purchases were in the older account. But it was also in the older account where I updated my email address. So now all my purchases are associated with the new email address. It really seems a shame that a program that allows someone to change their email address does not update that email address in mobile applications.

    I can unistall the app from my ipad and iphone, but they each have multiple GB of data that will have to be downloaded and configured again. This does not seem like it should be the only option for a modern application.

    If it allowed you to log in with the new email address, it would end up duplicating the data anyway. However, I know of some other users who seemingly had done the same as you and yet did not have the requests to log back in. I wonder if this is new.

    on iOS The Apple keychain is what remembers your login. in the latest version of iOS There is a separate Passwords app that you open where you can find and edit your passwords. In older versions, you go into settings into the Passwords sub menu, and there you can edit your logins.

    But if you have two Logos accounts you were juggling you need to resolve that issue first and then just be sure you’re logging into the newest one.

    I don't think this is true. I don't think the app utilizes keychain at all. If you simply mean "you can store your username and password in keychain," I agree. However, keychain does not "authorize" your account in Logos.

    I don't think this is true. I don't think the app utilizes keychain at all. If you simply mean "you can store your username and password in keychain," I agree. However, keychain does not "authorize" your account in Logos. 

    The app does not have to utilize keychain. It is a built-in iOS feature that remembers your logins and passwords.

    when you go to the login screen where you enter the email address or username, you will have keychain options to remember the username and password, just like almost every other iOS app.

    The app does not require you to login every time you use it, it remembers the login. This is what the OP was having problems with.

    I believe I updated the keychain email address and password last night, but it did not change what is happening in the app. (I'm sure it's possible that I did not do it correctly, but it seemed intuitive.)

    If you offload the app instead of deleting it, it should not make you redownload the books. Then you can reinstall and see if that solves the issue. The problem may be in one of the files that would not be deleted, but if I were in your shoes, it seems like an easy thing to try. But if it is happening on both your iPad and iPhone, it does seem like a keychain issue rather than an issue within the app.

    I don't understand this at all. I still don't think keychain has anything to do with it. 

    If a user has his credentials in keychain from macOS, it does not automatically enter those credentials on mobile. I don't think Logos uses keychain in anyway.

    You can try it, but I assume that he will be in the same boat because all of the data files will still be pointed to the wrong credentials. It might even double the amount of storage taken up on the device (I have had that happen before with Logos. I have also had that happen with streaming video apps that did not release downloaded video space even after the videos were "deleted.").

    For the record, this is another one of those reasons why I suggest users be conservative in the amount of downloaded resources.

    Passwords and other data in keychain is shared to all devices in the same icloud account. unless this was specifically disabled.

    I understand, but I still don't see your point. Keychain is like a little black book that keeps your passwords. Those credentials, as far as I know, don't connect to the Logos mobile app. Changing those credentials, as far as I know, have no impact upon the mobile app what so ever.

    You are correct that they do not directly "connect". But login and password are *automatically* placed into the login screen(s) of any app that has them saved in keychain ... thus a person might end up automatically logged in (which is the whole purpose of keychain) before they realized they missed the opportunity to change the login info.

    for example, If you changed your login info on the website, keychain will not know about it unless you updated keychain at the same time. But it will still automatically log you in any time the login screen appears.

    If you created a new Logos account, keychain possibly could still be logging automatically into the old one. That is what I suspected may have happened with OP.

    I think I understand now, but keychain does not "automatically" log in without a prompt. If the user has the old credentials in keychain and is using that instead of the new credentials, he needs to change that.

    I have never had keychain automatically log in to any app.

    The feature has to be turned on in settings. It is called autofill. Most of the apps that I use every day automatically use Face ID and autofill.

    Anyway, I’m not gonna comment on this topic anymore. It isn’t helping the OP who said that he already updated his keychain login.
