Catena aurea: Missing Parallel Works link

I got the new german Catena Aurea: Kommentar zu den Evangelien im Jahreskreis, which is still on pre-pub, already with a new 2025 library.

I also have the english version: Catena Aurea. Commentary on the Four Gospels (4 vols.).

Unfortunately, they don't appear under Parallel Resources.

The german version offers the Parallel Resources button, under which appears "Catholic Daily Readings", which I welcome. The english version lacks the Parallel Resources button, as far as I see.

When I build a Link Set with a bible, the "Catholic Daily Readings" and the two versions of the Catena Aurea, the english version switches to the german one.

Strangely, when I try to prioritize either of the versions in the library, the two versions with four and one volueme are treated as the same series of five volumes.

Will there be some adjustments?

I can't speak to the German but the English version works fine in parallel works. Does the German version have a Bible index? If so, it will work in Parallel resources with bibles and other commentaries. It is a matter of having a high enough priority to show OR of being in a collection set for parallel resources. Get back to me for additional instructions if that doesn't solve your problem.

If you want the treated as separate series, edit the series name in the information panel so they have separate series names.

Mine also appears at the end of the Parallel list, but the Link set functionality appears broken.

Linking it to a bible and another commentary that I know links nicely (using that fancy dynamic toolbar), produces no "linked movement"

I still can't make it work properly. Neither of the two is linkable to the other.

That is because the German Catena Aurea book follows the church year and is indexed accordingly (Catholic Liturgical Calendar, CLC), the English Catena Aurea follows the bible and has a bible index. Linking books in order to flow in parallel works only for books with the same index.

In my library there is Toal's "Sunday Sermons of the Great Fathers" which contains the Catena Aurea indexed by CLC, so it should provide the same structure as the German book and is linkable to it. The problem only is that this book predates Vatican II so it is not really indexed to the 3-yearly readings (maybe the index should have been different), so it works technically but won't bring up the same readings.

Now I understand; thank you very much for spelling this out. Maybe this could be added to the product description to avoid confusion among other users.

MJ answered that above: they have the same series name, that's why. For the four English ones this makes sense (jumping from Matthew to Luke will position the right book). The German resource should be different as it doesn't belong - just rename the series to "Catena Aurea deutsch" or something like that.
