SUGGESTION: A Goodreads-like site for Logos users to share what they are reading, ratings and revie
I would love a page on the Logos website that's like Goodreads but just for Logos users, focusing on Logos resources and, of course, other works that Logos users would like to see offered by Logos as resources. Goodreads is a pretty richly featured website, but to whatever extent that functionality could be offered by Logos for its users, that would foster interaction within the Logos user community focused on the books we're all reading. There's no cohort I'd rather hear from on what books they find valuable. I find recommendations here in the forums, but how much better on a Logos-specific reading site!

Every logos resource page does have a user feedback area where you can rate the resource and post comments. Of course that’s very limited compared to a site like a goodreads.

The lack of usage of this feature and the quality of some of the feedback, and the failure of previous community notes first in Libronix and more recently through Faithlife Groupe, and the sort of things we see posted on the forums suggest that to me it would not result in qaulity feedback that we desire, and the user base that would contribute appropriate reviews is to small for it to be a sucessful venture. It would be a waste of Logos resources and time. They have tried to branch out into it other things to and those have not been successful such as Church Management Software and once even floated the idea of a Christian dating site - thankfully that went no where.
The point is that Logos has tried to go outside their core business in different ways in the past and failed, there is no monetary value in it for them to start up a Goodreads type site for Logos users so it is only going to drain resources from the company and it would get filled with people making conplaint about why isn’t the book they want in Logos already there or people getting offended by the books listed because it is not in line with their theological position or people who havent even read the book bagging it.
There was once someone complaing on these forums about Logos promoting the books of a particular author because of the view they took on Genesis 6. They had decided the author was using sex to sell books because they were against the interpretation of that author. Those sort of incidents give me no confidence such a site would actually fulfill what we would like it to be and the lack of monetary return for Logos lead me to not want Logos to go down this path. I want them to put their limited time and resources into improving and developing Logos Bible Software rather than creating anothe platform for me people to get on their soapbox. We’ve seen enough of it on these forums over this past six or so months.
