Finally--- Goodbye old friend!

I never thought I would say this, but yesterday, I removed WordSearch from my computer. I guess now I have finally become a Logosian... I loved WordSearch... used it for a long time... but times changes and Logos does much more than WordSearch. So I said Goodbye to an old friend. Sad I did keep the files in case I want to re-install....

Libby would croak if I deleted her. I clearly remember the day she demonstrated exporting hebrew morphs. Wow. Plus, she's easily installable, in the event of a Logosian end-time (or unacceptable changes on the PE front).

Just an addendum.... I used to use VisiCalc years back... thought it was the ultimatum of all statistics programs.... but you know what??? I don't even remember how to use it now.... when shows me that programs change and our need of programs changes.

I used BibleSoft, QuickVerse, WordSearch and now Logos. No way do I want to go backwards in that progression....

My WS ceased functioning on Mac for a while once Apple phased out support for 32 Bit apps.

I was able to keep WS running on a PC, although my PC recently messed up. WS was one of the programs that was affected during the messup. My PC is recovered from the messup, but my WS hasn't been restored.

I could probably dig around on the forums here and attempt to restore WS, but since my WS books are already in Logos, I'd rather move forward and use my WS books in Logos than attempt to restore WS and try to keep running with ancient technology.

I spent a little time this week making sure my WS desktops were rebuilt in Logos with my WS books inside Logos, plus checked over my collections and prioritized books and made a few tweaks. I'm pretty much settled in (since I was already familiar with Logos before my WS library merged with it). I did have a sizable WS library since I had an old PC once that couldn't run Libronix but could run WS5 back in the day. The main thing I need to do is train my mind not to use those books in WS anymore since I had such a solid mental workflow with them, I could navigate them in my sleep. :-)

I've been going through the list of features I used heavily in WS and will gradually comment on feature request forum threads or vote on feedback on the remaining few WS features I used the most that I'd like to see come to Logos (so if I've been interacting a little more on here lately, now you know why. Trying to get fully settled in after saying goodbye to WS). Bible Study Builder is a good start to replace Lessonmaker (and if it can add the rest of the features that were in Lessonmaker and the ancient Logos Lesson Builder, that would be good), and if Copy Bible Verses could have a few updates to replace ZipScript, that would be useful (I always loved ZipScript, it was a shame it never functioned on the Mac).

I just purchased a new HP Victus laptop about two weeks ago. I transferred all of my files for the older laptop on the Victus...WP12 is resident on Victus and so is ZipScript. I am more than happy to see that they transferred. How cool is that?

Oooh, I remember ZipScript!! Great program... Sometime back I decided to become a "Logosian" and I started using Logos CopyVerse.... I figured out how to change the copy version to the way I wanted it and format it like I like and then I quit ZipScript. It's a matter of getting used to it... but Logos CopyVerse works for me now. I think once you start using it, and get it formatted to the way you want it, CopyVerse will work for you too.

I just got tired of duplicate programs on my PC. When I started "culling the duplication" I didn't realize how much disk space I would free up, but it was considerable. I often wondered if I was a "hoarder of programs"??? LOL [8-|]

xnman, I've also been using Logos for about 20 years and find that once in a while, WS will have just the quickest answer based on my search, but more and more over the past 20 years, Logos has finally caught up with WS...ha-ha!
