Unable to.save custom layouts since recent Logos Update in October 2024
Dear fellow Logos users. I wish you all well. I am hoping that someo n e reading this would be able to assist me with this query. Ever since upgrading to the most recent edition of Logos Oct 2024 with AI supported features) I noticed, among other things, that I can no longer save named custom layouts for ease of future use if I wish to return to a particular multiwindow layout. It used to be a seamless click of a button within the previous Logos 10 version but now it seems like all I can do from the "Layout" button is select from a predetermined number of windows within the different layout options with no option (at least not that I can see) to save for future use. Grateful for any responses to help with this query. God bless

Hi Rico,
I am trying to visual what you are seeing. Can you provide a screenshot? Are you starting with a custom layout or do you just want to save the quick layout for future use under a new name? Also are you on a Mac or Windows computer.
Thanks

Welcome Rico,
A screenshot would be helpful.
Here I can save a custom layout via "Save as named layout". Then it becomes Active and can be updated (for changes) via "Update Active", below the "Save..." box.
What is the significance of "multi-window layout" and what is the button you clicked? What is the "predetermined number of windows" in the Layout menu (above).Dave

Hi John and Dave,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm using a MacBook. Below are two screenshots. The first one is the view I was accustomed to with Logos 10 that allowed me to save custom layouts (toolbar oriented horizontally at the top in the screenshot). The second screenshot is Logos 11 where that option is not immediately visible to me (toolbar oriented vertically to the left of the screen in the screenshot.) Hope this helps. Thanks for your time.

The first screen shot is from the desktop app, but isn't the second screen shot from the web app? In the web app on app.logos.com it has always looked like that, I believe. To save a layout, you save the window as a bookmark in your browser. On the desktop app, things should work as before.

The second screenshot seems to be Chrome browser with Logos saved "as an app", which might not feel like a browser window, even though that's what it is. It might even show up as an icon in your dock (or whatever you call that on Mac). You probably have the full Logos desktop app installed separately, if not, download from https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020137252-Install-Logos-Bible-Software-Mac

Thank you all for your feedback and that clarification in Terminology. It seems like my mid-2014 Macbook is too old to support the iOS 12 minimum required for the most recent version of the desktop app so I guess I will be using the bookmark feature to save layouts. Appreciate all of your helpful feedback.
