Confidence Monitor Shows YouTube Videos

I would like the confidence monitor to show YouTube and other streaming-type videos.

  • I agree, we are in the dark on the stage, whenever the video is playing to the sanctuary.

If you use NDI to display the video on your confidence monitors, you can switch the feed from Proclaim to your YouTube feed and back. For me, this falls under the “Please do not add everything and the kitchen sink to Proclaim.” NDI is free and easy to setup and use.

Once Proclaim becomes one input into your NDI network the possibilities become endless as far as what you can display where. You can display one feed in the lobby, one on the confidence monitors, and another in front of the sanctuary, while sending another to your live stream. You can even run two copies of Proclaim with two different service schedules running. We do this to create a video playlist when we need to overlay lyrics on video. This works around Proclaim’s kludgy background video implementation.

Proclaim is very good at what it does. Through NDI support it integrates into the broader video production ecosystem without having to deliver every feature itself. Give NDI a try. You will not be disappointed.

@Andrew Hald  Can you describe your setup a little more in detail? I think I'm confused about this, but sounds very interesting as to how it would work.

Does your setup use some kind of NDI distribution to send video signals all over the building to different screens?
