I've always ran Logos and Verbum on my desktop PC but never downloaded many resources in my Verbum install (I kept it on Verbum 9 and on offline mode as a "just in case"). I've recently decided that I should probably primarily be running Verbum rather than Logos, considering (for my own use case) the only downside is a couple minor changes in what specific features are called even though they function the same.
I essentially have one reason for switching… I like the ability to search the Catechism, Church Fathers, and Church Documents on Verbum. I know this can be achieved through Collections, but it just makes sense to me to not have to build and maintain any extra collections if it's already built into the program. There's a few other small benefits to me switching over as well, but nothing game changing.
The only con I can really see is the change from Sermon Builder to Homily Builder, which of course is just a matter of preference, there's no substantive change other than getting used to typing in "ho" rather than "se" when trying to open it. I don't use Sermon Builder much anyway to be honest, I much typing sermons and studies on Word and syncing them to my ebook because there's just less moving parts… but I digress.
Before I go too much into a rabbit hole of why I'm switching, I have a couple questions for anyone who either: runs both Verbum and Logos or has switched from one to the other in the past. Mainly I would like to know if there's any changes in my workflows that I may not be able to foresee. I have Logos installed on around 6 or 7 devices. I really am only planning on deleting Logos from my desktop. Would I run into any problems by running Verbum (with no Logos install) on my desktop, and keeping Logos installed on my laptop, iPad, iPhone, ebook, etc? Would I run into any problems with syncing from Verbum to Logos on any of my other devices? Most of the grunt work is done on my desktop and the rest of my devices are used to reference that work. I do use Proclaim on occasion, my FL account is connected to my church's Proclaim, would this possibly cause any issues? I don't use FL Sermons (or Logos sermons as it's now called), and Verbum's default prioritization is already overridden by my resource prioritization.
Normally I wouldn't stress on it, but I have older devices that take hours to index and the thought of getting stuck between a rock and a hard place at the most inopportune time gives me a bit of anxiety.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
