OK I'll bite - I'm really curious about the logic to Logos promo on Facebook
My first thought is that it is not April 1st yet. My next thought was well Math is a very pure language of God. But nope, drawing a blank as to why this is a promo item on Logos' Facebook page.
Contemporary Abstract Algebra, 10th ed. (Textbooks in Mathematics) | Logos Bible Software
Interesting - it even indicates it is a Logos Research Edition - doesn't that mean extra tagging? I'm bemused and curious. :)

I saw this and was curious as well. I know there's 100,000+ general ebooks available, but I thought they were all simply quickly produced ebooks. I'd be curious though as to what the extra tagging on this book would consist of.

Logos has released several 'secular' textbooks recently. My personal theory is that the contracts to produce them were made back in the days of Noet and it just took its time.

But a math text book? From my recollection, Noet was focused on classics, etc. If it was just an ebook rather than a research edition I would just laugh at the human/computer error and move on. I'm just really curious out the tagging :D At the very least they would have some links to Ps 90:12 "teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom".
Just to be clear I'm not at all concerned about anything, just playfully curious.

Hi Jeremy! Thanks for flagging this for the Logos team. Products like this do exist in Logos due to our Logos for Education partnerships, where we offer Logos-edition textbooks for classes in both biblical studies and many other general categories (in this case, maths)!
Due to the way our Logos ads work, sometimes products like this pop up from time to time due to back-end tagging. We've flagged for our digital marketing team and will remedy shortly!1 -
Well, it will come up in the AI search :-)

What was your search to make that come up?

No problem - it's actually a good price when compared to buying it from Amazon. So maybe, it'll bring in a few more customers!

Like the OP, I've stopped by these forums to work out what's going on. Is there a list somewhere of what Logos for Education resources are presently/futurely available? I wouldn't have thought to check Logos for such wider disciplines.

Offering these textbooks would be a potential entry into the Homeschooling sector of education as well… It would be a 'genre' for Logos to check into at least - beyond the traditional institutional education avenues, Homeschooling is a dedicated sector that could bring in a large group of users - if there were solid Homeschool packages/curriculum packages offered….

That's advanced college level math though, not suitable for homeschooling at all.

Which is why I stated the suggestion of solid Homeschool packages/curriculum packages and by "these textbooks", I intended to mean the 'non theological' sector of textbooks, maybe taking for granted that my post would come across clearly, considering the context of the OP wondering why this textbook was offered by Logos.

I definitely have some funny stories to tell when professors' home schooled their children …
