    Welcome to the Logos Community!

    What brought you to Logos?

For me, it was my Grandfather who pastored for 70 years and used Logos in the last years of his ministry. Now I use Logos regularly and benefit from the Bible translations, commentaries, and Smart Search always at my fingertips.

I’m personally really excited about this community. Logos is super powerful but what a sweet opportunity to get even more out of it by tapping into the community of the Church! I can’t think of many apps out there who have such a dedicated and helpful community of people supporting each other! Praise the Lord for the Church using technology to dive deeper in the Word.

    What brought you to Logos?

@Kristen Tetteh, I started using Logos back around 2011 or 2012 while at Wheaton College Graduate School, and I never fully went back to print-only research since then!

@Sean Metcalfe I'm with you. There are a lot of fantastic people in this community, and I'm blessed to be a part of it.

@Kristen Tetteh I wish I had such a cool story. For me, it's just seminary. But Logos helped to open my eyes to a new level of Bible study potential. Now I'm hooked.

I'm a newbie to Logos. I have played with the free version for year or two but never got really into it. I have now subscribed to Logos as my bible study has developed to the degree that I can now see the benefits of learning how to use Logos. Even just at this starting point I am beginning to see how immense this resource is and will enjoy learning how to use it.

I expect that this Logos community will definitely be part of that learning process that I frequent. :)

Welcome! I started using Logos in seminary. I bought Logos 4 at the time so I could have access to great commentaries. At the time, I thought it was just Kindle for Bible nerds so I was immediately hooked.

I loved using Logos throughout seminary so much that I sold plasma to purchase additional resources, like Word Biblical Commentary, which rarely goes on sale. Buying books in Logos was (and still is) an addiction 😂

After seminary, I started using Logos for ministry throughout the city and that's when I began to see it's real power. Logos has come a long way since 2011. I'm pumped to see what's to come.

I downloaded the free version in 2011 or 2012 and used it once or twice (or maybe not at all) then in August 2023 I ran across it. With Logos's reputation being so good, I decided to upgrade to Bronze and went through Morris Proctor's introductory instructional videos. Within a year I had upgraded to Platinum and then signed on for Max Professional. I am constantly amazed with how much time Logos saves me and with the resources that are available.

I started ministry back in 1971 and served in a variety of capacities, never having what I now have with Logos. Although I no longer preach or teach, I still study and write — almost daily. I am still learning and being constantly amazed.

This is so incredible. I'm encouraged to hear you're still studying and writing daily—digging deep into God's Word. Thank you for taking a moment to share with us, @Bill Paul.

    Hi Logos Community! 👋

I started using Logos in Bible college years ago and barely scratched the surface then of what the tool could do (really started using it mainly for languages + hermeneutics support). Little did I know that I didn't have to go to the library every time I needed to write a paper… I could just open Logos (and save time doing it)!

I jumped more fully in with Logos 10 and now I use it regularly for my personal study and exegesis, writing, and teaching prep. And it's been a joy to also share with individuals in my sphere, like my mom who has faithfully led her Precepts Bible study for years. I still have much to learn, but so glad to be a part of this community who love the Word of God as much as I do!

I heard about Logos when they first moved to Bellingham in 2003, then in 2011 I had the opportunity to assist the marketing team with videos and photo shoots. Fast forward to 2021 and I began working here and discovered the software's tremendous power to study God's Word. I now use Logos for Bible study and as a healing and recovery minister for a local church. I am grateful to be a part of this community!

@Andrew Rigney I loved this: “Kindle for Bible Nerds” and then I read that you sold plasma to purchase more resources, such committment!

I am encouraged there is such a great diversity of people represented in just these first few replies. Everyone has a story … they are so good to hear. It is so good to get to know brothers and sisters in Christ.

My journey with Logos began in June 2001. It's truly hard to believe that it has been that long. If all I had a computer for was to run Logos, that would be sufficient. The software and the community have been a significant part of my journey, and I consider many here to be friends. Perhaps one day we should organise a big meetup in Bellingham!

    Hi Logos Community!

Excited to be here! I've been using Logos for about 3 years now as a worship leader. It helps me dig into the Scriptures behind the lyrics we're singing at church. (And maybe help filter some that don't 😅) Once I started doing that, it became so much easier to prepare introductions or speaking sections leading into songs, even if just leading with a related verse before we start singing.

Plus, Logos is a great excuse for me to go way overboard with pages and pages of notes when my small group leader is out of town and I get to lead discussion. Not my fault. I opened Factbook. 🤷‍♂️

Looking forward to seeing how others use Logos day to day. And trying to become best friends with @Jason Stone (Logos). He's a harder nut to crack than Morph River. Anyone? Anyone? Morph River fans out there? Okay. He's probably going to roll his eyes at that. I should go.

    See you in the forums!

I think you will find Jason Stone very accessible and cordial at the least. His only constraint is that he may spread himself a bit too thin trying to help everyone he can. He has a lot on his plate trying to revamp the once black and white forums into a community. Aside from glitches and nits I feel that he is progressing very well. I’m sure with the communities help there will be a better forum.

I was a Bibleworks user since the 90s. They went out of business in 2018 and can no longer be activated. So I've tried multiple Bible apps, but nothing was a good replacement.

A few months ago I decided to try logos again (I tried it a few years back). There was a bit of a learning curve for me. I took some training from MP Seminars to get a feel for it.

Now that I understand a lot of the features, I'm sold. My old software had a lot of resources, but the way Logos integrates everything brings everything together in my studies. Then I expanded my library and kept finding more and more valuable commentaries and features. I spent way too much money, but it has been worth it. Now I'm a Max subscriber, and the new generation of Logos has made my studies richer and deeper. I no longer miss my old software. I use Logos almost every day!

I'm loving this new comment/reply functionality. It's still a bit quirky, but I really see the potential. Well done!
