Car Play
Could you enable Logos Mobile to allow it to play speech / read through the car speakers? I have lots of books I want to listen to but as soon as Apple car play activates it plays the audio for the book for one second and then stops playing.

Logos app narrates the ESV Bible on carplay for me with no problems. Did you try tapping the "play" button after it stopped?

I've tried various books. Yes, I tried pressing play too. Still doesn't work. It'll show it moving forward but no audio comes out. Whenever I use any other apps that use audio it works just fine.

Seems strange that it would be just the Logos app. Are you using a Bluetooth connection or USB?
All other audio apps work, just not Logos?

I have the same issue on mine. Other apps work just fine, and it doesn't matter if I use the USB connection or the bluetooth, Logos won't play over the car speakers. It will still play through my phone speakers when my phone is connected to my car, but it won't play over the car speakers. This is with Android Auto.

I haven't thought about doing this. Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to try it today. I'll post here if it works.

I also have some issues where playback isn’t especially reliable with Bluetooth / Now Playing.
A Logos CarPlay interface would be nice so I could reliably control playback while driving, especially if I want to select book / chapter.

They may stream the audio instead of download it in advance.
I have a KJV audio book. It's all mp3's; the total size is 930MB. That's pretty big. So I wonder if you can get that ESV audio book downloaded to your phone in advance. Streaming audio shouldn't be a problem anymore but since it is, maybe you can't stream it in your car because of the file sizes.
I'm also wondering why the ESV is the only one with audio support. When there are many different types of Bible audio books out there, that have already been indexed for Bible software.

An iOS app does not have to specifically support CarPlay for the audio to play over the car speakers. I do not and have never had any expectation that Logos would appear on the cars console display. But the audio plays over the speakers when using the Logos app on the phone. Obviously this is not intended to be safe while driving. But the audio should work over CarPlay just as you would expect it to work over Bluetooth.

Has your car been updated to the latest version of CarPlay available?
Do any of the items in the link help?

Logos ESV Bible narration on Carplay in a Toyota using USB connection. (note, you cannot begin playing on the Carplay console, you have to begin playing on the phone)

There are others with synchronized audio. The Lexham is one that does. Any Bible that does not have the audio feature can still read to you, but will use the synthesized voice built in to your device.
To be honest, if listening to an audio Bible while driving is what a person wants, they are better off purchasing the (non-Logos) audiobook. Most audio Bibles I have seen come with individual files for each chapter, so tapping forward or reverse goes one chapter ahead or back. With Carplay you can use the buttons on your steering wheel without ever taking your eyes off the road.
As far as the ESV goes, the ESV Bible app is free and has the audio built-in, synchronizes the voice to the text on screen (of the phone) and it works with Carplay also.

Later I found in the Logos shop they have the Alexander Scourby (KJV) audio book. That's a good one.
The reviews say the integration isn't good, but I'm not sure.0
