Ancient Languages and Linguistics resources

I've been asking for months if Logos intends to 'show some love' to us, Ancient Languages (AL) people (teachers, researchers, students and nerds of all kinds), and not only put some of the resources on the monthly discounts (like the Baylor series), but acquire more.

Logos is 'diversifying' their books on pre-order. I have seen from torrid 'love stories' to woke literature, a gazillion 'self-help literature' (sic), but very few new AL resources. Moreover, since it's opened to more types of books, couldn't Logos acquire more Linguistics resources (grammars, dictionaries, introductions etc)? From classic authors like Bybee and Chomsky to new releases?

To limit this kind of resource to some biblical theologians that also teach AL, and that try very hard to sell books that 'incorporate the late Linguistic studies' (and usually is a mess), is not good enough on a field that needs every possible help. And real Linguistics would really help!

I know Logos acquired some books from Glossahouse, but they have many more resources that could help. Professor Robert Holmstedt, for example, just released an Early Ethiopic grammar through Glossahouse. All those would be great on Logos.

So, please, try to squeeze some AL resources in and give us more discounts on AL resources. Thanks and God bless!

Hey, you had my support until you used the word "woke"

Nonetheless, I suggest that you request specific resources on Feedback > Book requests and encourage users to vote them up to show the demand. I would argue that such books are necessary to effectively use many of the tools Logos provides.

The bad taste in my mouth from your use of the dog-whistle word will have diminished sufficiently that I will vote for some of them.

The intention was not (and is not, ever) to cause offense. And thanks for the suggestion.

I know - but I hate the word for having no really meaning beyond "stuff I think are liberal/commie trash/indoctrination."

Agree on academic, but I'd think (Logos staff-perspective), suggestions (specific as MJ above) would need to be in the ball-park, typically heavily referenced. Just guessing, besides the fire-hose of publisher auto-reads, they don't have much staffing time for hard-to-tag resources.

They seem to be able to do one biggy per year. Last one was Strack & Billerbeck. Maybe this year Hebrew Encyclopedia. (Not counting their in-house Lexhams). Have to think about next year.
