Issue was noticed after 40 Beta 2 update, but can't confirm it is a Beta issue.

Open Logos or Verbum to saved layout on my laptop, sync completes fine

Within a minute or so of working in layout syncing starts and doesn't stop, don't know what caused it to start for sure, it may have been a search I did or opening another resource

Close Logos, get notice of syncing resources, syncing continues until I force exit by selecting "close now".

Restarted Windows, no change

Repeatable everytime I open and close the app in Logos or Verbum

WiFi is on and functioning as normal

No red exclamation point to indicate syncing error either.

Had a bit of trouble zipping logs. received notice that CEF Logos file was open and another file was open too, I skipped them and zip continued. Don't know if this is a problem for the logs or a part of the sync issue I'm having.

Thank you for any assistance in solving this issue.

Try deleting the following folders in C\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Logos\Data\4qd34mla.tz4\

    • UpdateManager
    • DownloadManager
    • CloudResourceManager

    then restart logos.

@Dave Hooton My problem has reappeared even after following your above instructions. The deletion of those manager folders worked for awhile on Logos but did not on Verbum for some reason.

I am now on Logos and Verbum 40.0 Beta 3 40.0.327. and the problem still persists in both Logos and Verbum.

I still can't nail down what causes it to start the continual syncing, but once it does it persists until I exit the program and click Exit Now on the syncing pop up. After a successful restart both Verbum and Logos work as expected for a short time (varies) but then the issue starts again.

I also noticed that clicking the program icon to restart again hangs on the opening screen logo. When I checked in task manager I noticed the previously closed program was still active along with the instance of the one I just tried to open that is hung up. So, apparently the program is not completely shutting down and still allowing me to initiate a second loading attempt, which then hangs.

Here is a screenshot of the closed program still active in Task Manager.

Here are logs for Logos again. Zipping logs still gave me the error message that LogosCEF files are open, which I skipped.

I tried deleting the twelve LogosCEF files in Task Manager without success, they are just re-executed.

    Any other thoughts to try?

Did you abort the background Logos task before restarting Logos?

The only Error in the log relates to a missing Handout on a Sermon (not identified). No errors on Sync.

I had to to get Logos to complete. When Logos hung up on the opening logo, I went to Task Manager and found the previous session still running so, I ended both sessions in Task Manager and restarted Logos. It then opened properly.

I saw that error also, I thought I saw several more "error"s too, such as in the notes tool and unable to find certain resources and others, but I admit I don't know or understand much of what I was reading either.

I'll wait for it to come up with the sync error again and post logs again.
