Locking notes.

Hello,

I'm requesting the ability to lock notes so that when I remove highlights, the embedded annotations remain intact. Currently, if I download notes from someone else that contain highlights and embedded annotations (which can be clicked or hovered over to view), I can remove my highlights without deleting the annotations. However, when I do this with my own notes, the embedded annotations are deleted along with the highlights.

There is a star in this text, and I am able to hover because its connected to a note, I can highlight the text corresponding to this and this note wont be removed from the text, but this is someone else's note…

I'm asking for the ability to do this with my own notes.

So above I have highlighted a note and then deleted the highlight.

but as you can see the red star remained (locked note) and the 2 yellow stars were removed (open note).

    Click on Feedback (top of page) → English Feedback → New Suggestion

    I can remove my highlights without deleting the annotations. However, when I do this with my own notes, the embedded annotations are deleted along with the highlights.

    Apologies if I am misunderstanding you, but technically you are not deleting your annotations when you remove your highlights. You are simply removing the Highlight Style and Note Icon that make the annotations visible while you are reading. You can add these again by locating the note within the Notes tool.

    yes, I understand that however,

    I have over 4200 notes in the LSB alone… lol I am sure you could imagine how difficult it would be finding that exact note, also the hassle of having to remember to do so every time I delete something. I am asking for an option to lock that in place so it wont get deleted, kind of how when you download someone else's note and you can't edit it.
