In a search, all the text disappears, except for the term in the search box.

When searching for "Deibler" in "Notes on Translation" volume 86, the search engine finds "Deibler", but all the other text in the book disappears except for the author's name and the title, Translating the Word 'Christ'. (This also happens in volume 71.) This is the support info:

Thank you.

This is the expected outcome when you perform an Inline Search: the text of the resource is filtered down to only matching sentences.

To see the search hits without hiding non-matching text, use the Search panel: https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039621591-How-do-I-search-in-Logos#SearchTool

Interesting. My experience is that my results in Logos more frequently show the whole text with only the search term highlighted. (For instance, this is what happens if I have "Notes on Translation no. 22 open and I click on the inline search tool.) I actually prefer that result, since I can see the context. I would say that the system is inconsistent and should be fixed, but I would prefer that I get what I am looking for at least some of the time.

I tried the search panel just now. It gives a few more words of context, but still does not allow me to read the content I have just located. When search for "Ellis W. Deibler Jr." and I click on the link "Translating the Word ‘Christ’" it brings me to the highlighted word in "Notes on Translation 86". But when I click on the link "Bibliography", although it opens "Translator Notes: Ecclesiastes Display", it opens 8 pages above the search term, which is at the end of the document.

Are there other people that find either of these search methods helpful? I am use to searching a .pdf or .doc file with a simple search that moves me from one hit of the search term to the next in full context.

In this case, I wanted to read what Deibler had written. Eventually I got there, in one case, with the search panel, but it required an extra step and opening two new panels. You see, I already had "Notes on Translation vol. 86" open, I just wanted to find Deibler's article in this issue of the journal. It seems like there should be an easier way to do that.

Thank you, Bradley, for your assistance.

Click the highlighted search term in the results to jump straight to it.
