How do you use it? Bible Smart Search

Have you checked out the ‘Smart Search’ feature in the Bible section of the search? You probably know how it works for your library, but in the Bible search, it lets you quickly find passages, topics, or themes from different Bible versions.
How has this tool made your study sessions easier?

TBH… this is the best AI change yet! U think it is a true game changer. I was planning a series and wanted to do something on surrender but was not sure where to start. So in the Bible search i simply asked the question, "What are the benefits of surrender?" and I got verses and passages that spurred me on in my thinking to map out a 7 week series in a matter of 15 or 20 minutes! This is a real big deal.

I love this new feature. I agree with Pastor Don's comment's above. This is a big deal and truly a game changer.
It is so natural to use and you don't have to have perfect searching syntax to get great results.

I've been fairly against AI because of all the negatives that come with it, but now that it's here to stay and since I've discovered the power of AI in Logos, I'm blown away at how useful it is!
Bible search is great for finding passages on topics, and I love being able to ask questions with different collections of books. Only problem is I think I'm going to run out of credit! :)"Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person." - Colossians 4:6

Imagine, if they introduce even MORE great AI features!

Not much, so far…haven't found a great deal of use for it yet (but I don't do a ton of searches).
If I have a quick bible question about a verse, I still open a gooble search and search that way…it is at least twenty times faster and seemingly just as accurate. (19 of the 20 is the time it takes for Logos to start up, and I don't see a way that will ever change.)
I'm not opposed to the new SS but its simply not good enough yet to beat the old like gooble.

@Doc B if you don't mind, could you illustrate how you search for a topic on Google and what you obtain that is better than what you would obtain for the same search with Bible Smart Search? This request is not to contest what you wrote. On the contrary, if Bible Smart Search can be made better than generic search engines, this sort of specific feedback might help Logos see how.

A good solid search is a game changer in any bible software. There will never be a search that satisfies all people. And I see search as still evolving. From where it was in Logos 8, this new Search is definitely a game changer. I use Search as it seems I can't remember… so I search.
Thanks to the Logos Team! Great work!

Soitenly, said Moe.
Say I want to find the verse where Jesus said something like, "…the Father is greater than I am."
Minimum of three minutes for Logos…about 6 seconds (because I don't type that fast) with gooble.

That is really slow indeed. My smart searches never take nearly that long.

Your program must start a lot faster than mine. (I'm timing from the time my hands hit the keyboard/mouse until I read the answer.)

I enjoy using Smart Search to compare with my Precise Search. Sometimes, my Precise Search results aren't as comprehensive as they could be because I haven't constructed my query in the best possible way. Smart Search sometimes highlights results that I can use to create an even more robust Precise Search.

Typed in "the Father is greater than I am" in Smart Search→Bible and walla walla bing bang… I didn't count, but I got answers like immediately in Windows 11…

I have the desktop app open most of the time because I use it throughout the day. If the time it takes to load is what deters you, Bible Smart Search is also available in the web app that should load instantly.

Changed my mind about my post :) Good day!

@NathanL Now, shut the program down. Start your timer. Then start Logos, let it load, sync, etc. then pull up your search and ask the question.
A lot more than two seconds, I think. :-) And that's why I still use gooble most of the time.

@xnman Follow the instructions I gave NathanL above.
Oh, and by the way, you also got four wrong answers in your list (that I can see…may be more).

@Doc B I will agree that it does take a bit longer for Logos to initially load from V11… And like I think you are, I am also concerned about this. But I am one of these that has Logos loaded most of the time… so that is a mute issue with me.
But after Logos is loaded up… then Smart Search is very quick. Don't you find this to be so also?

Oh right I get you now.
So I had Logos off, launched the application and got to search in 7 seconds, I opened a browser and typed in google and got to the search bar in 4 seconds, so yeah Google is faster!"Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person." - Colossians 4:6

It's a great search feature, but I still use a standard AI tool most often. I was writing a paper for school and referencing a required book that discussed various qualifications for biblical interpretation. The book is in Logos so I have smart search available for the Bible and the textbook. In my other AI tool I uploaded my draft paper and entered the prompt: "Using the English Standard Version of the Bible, find a verse that discusses each of the qualifications" and in a few seconds I had an appropriate biblical passage with a brief explanation of how each passage related to the qualification. I could have used Logos smart search, but I would have had to do each query individually and searched through a list of results.
