I appreciate that we can now choose to have the dynamic toolbar minimized by default and export Bible smart searches to passage lists. These are really nice updates, thank you.

I also notice that Bible translation footnotes have blue lettered indicators. I like it. It's a new (more vibrant) blue, isn't it?

Can't figure out how to save smart searches to passage list. Any help appreciated!

Currently, Bible is the only Smart search that supports this functionality.

For context, I have Pro. Version 41 (as of today). My drop down (the three dots) does not show "save as passage list".

Looks like v40 to me. Did you restart Logos after installing? Can you verify v41?

Multiple restarts. The start screen says version 41. Also "about Logos" also indicates v41.

It didn't show right away for me; I didn't have to restart but I closed and reopened the menu a couple of times before I saw the Save to Passage List option.

@Bruce Bryan β€” could you upload a screenshot of the entire search panel, in case there's anything we can glean from that?

It might be a bug but I can only repro if I do the following:

    1. In the Search panel switching the search type to Precise and having Fuzzy selected.
    2. Switch back to a Smart Bible search and run a search
    3. No option for a 'Save as a Passage List' from the Panel menu.

The workaround for me was changing 'Fuzzy' to any of the other options (Passage, Grid, Analysis, etc) and rerunning my Smart search.

@Matt Mattox (Faithlife) you found the bug! I was jumping on here to report the same thing - no Save As Passage List in Smart Search (and I had it in the beta!). I read your post, switched to Precise, and sure enough - it was on Fuzzy - not sure why, I have not done a Fuzzy search since before the AI stuff was introduced last year or so!

I changed that search to Passages, flipped back to Smart, and lo and behold, Save As Passage List is there!

In the 41.0.416 update, I noticed that when Logos starts, there's now what appears to be an A.I. Bible search option at the top. Is there any way within the setup of the program to remove or disable this option? I personally don't want it.

I would like a setting to remove it as well. I dislike 'noise' on my dashboard and the search bar is just shouting for attention. It's already distracting me; I don't like it πŸ˜”

Some useful features added to Factbook and the Dynamic tool bar in this update and the "search" added to the Dashboard, brilliant! thank you Faithlife.

I am also pleased to see the new subscription model enabling continual software evolution rather than waiting a couple of years for most improvements.

Exporting SmartSearch is a value-added feature, and the Factbook reveals more about resources, saving some manual work. I'm also looking forward to using the tagging in the Deuterocanon in this release.

My Logos just updated to 41.0, I now cannot open it at all. It was working fine previous to this. This is the error message:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item."

I am on Windows 11, which did some updates last night as well. However, Logos was working fine this morning until it updated to 41.0.

BTW, I have drilled down to the Logos.exe file, run as Administrator, but I get the same error message. There may be a pointer missing or misdirecting the ability to run.

I just want to offer a sincere thank-you for the "prefer minimized toolbar" option. First, having it as an option is great. Clearly there are users who like to have the Logos functions and tools as visible as possible for the sake of discoverability. But others know the functions in Logos that they need to use and they prefer maximum screen space for their resources, guides, etc. In addition, they simply prefer a less cluttered look, especially in more complex layouts. Now they have that option. Second, if I have opened a secondary toolbar to pick a certain function or tool, and then click on another tab, Logos automatically "cleans up after me," and closes the secondary toolbar. Nice!

I'm sure this new "prefer minimized toolbar" option doesn't address every scenario, but so far in my experience, it goes a long way. So, thank-you!

    I forgot, one more thing…

Perhaps Logos can think about the long-term discoverability of the "prefer minimized toolbar" option. Right now because of all the discussion in the forums over this matter I'm guessing that those who want more screen space will dive right in and click that setting. But settings, especially at the bottom of a long list, may not be so easy to discover. Perhaps through a toast notification or something else, you can help Logos users over time learn that they have this option.

Thank you for the minimize toolbar! This is the highlight of the update and should not be demoted to the last item of "A snapshot of more updates" of the release notes.

Thanks for the confirmation. Just created a case for our team.

I found your error message on some Microsoft online boards that should have the resolution steps. Have you tried these? Here's the link to Microsoft's support article.

    Thanks Matt,

I went through all the steps. It was my antivirus. Not sure why it was blocking it after the v.41 update. It is now working again.

The color of all footnote indicators and verse references in bibles and non-bible books appears to have changed in version 41 to a very bright vivid blue which my eyes are not able to tolerate. Could @Matt Mattox or any Logos team member please confirm if this was an intentional color change for version 41 or if it is perhaps some sort of UI bug (I hope) that will soon be resolved? I did not see it listed in the release notes.

please confirm if this was an intentional color change for version 41

This was an intentional change so that the color of the links in resources match the color of the links everywhere else in the application.

Thanks for your quick reply and confirmation Andrew and for explaining the reason for the change.

This is very disappointing but not surprising since the unfortunate trend in the last several years has been an increasing amount of uncomfortably bright vivid blues throughout the application. I had hoped bibles and non-bible books would have been spared.

@Tim Wells I concur. I think the missing 3 dots is a bug. I don't have it either. I would think Smart Search and Precise Search would have the 3 dots. 😎
