Black banner in this edition every time I use the app

If I don't update to the latest version, this banner seems to be there every time I use this app, is there a way to stop this advertisement? I find this black banner very annoying actually. I've invested a lot already, I really don't want to be pushed into subscribing to a newer version.

    You should be able to dismiss this banner by clicking the X in the top right.

    (There have been bug reports in the past that it returns after being dismissed. This is not intentional, and is a bug in the software: once you close a banner it shouldn't come back. Please report if the X is not permanently working for you.)

    Thanks, Bradley, for your quick response. It appears there every time I use this App. So every time I use this app, I have to click the X in the top.

    If I recall correctly, there was a bug concerning banners that I think was fixed a short while ago. If you are choosing not to update, you may still have this bug.

    It should be noted that updating does not require a subscription. In fact, the expectation is that all users, including nonsubscribers, continue to update to the latest version.
