Course Layout doesn't give update active option

Dear Folk,

Have been working through a Course. After a segment or two, when I go to Layouts, it shows current, but the update active button is grayed and not functional. I have to rename the layout with the same previous name to save it. Am I missing something?

    Perhaps you are forgetting to open the saved course layout? A grayed and non-functional Update active button would indicate that you are not currently working in a saved layout.

    Dear Aaron,

    I opened the layout from the "Pick up where I left off" button on the What Would You Like to Do Today box on the Dashboard. So, that doesn't work? It should.

    I don't share your expectations. Pick up where I left off will produce your most recent setup, but it will not open your most recently used layout. If your most recent setup was not saved in a layout and the button opened your most recently used layout, then this button would not do what it says it will do. So, please know that you are not opening a saved layout when you use this button.

    If you would like to automatically open your most recent layout, you can accomplish this in Program Settings by selecting Most recent layout (local or any) under General → At Startup Open to.

    Alternatively, you can save layouts on the Dashboard by clicking the + to the right in the Get Started section and selecting Layout under Add new.
