Why is NT Wright's Advent/Lent for Everyone a Bible Commentary but not 12 months of Sundays?

When one examines the lectionary-based Bible commentaries, they are spread across Bible Commentary, Calendar Devotional, and Devotional (omitting eBooks) which makes it a real pain to use them. I should be able to make a collection of them with a Bible index and be able to spin through these resources.
A prime example of this inconsistency is in N.T. Wright:
- Advent for Everyone series (Bible Commentary)
- Lent for Everyone series (Bible Commentary)
- Twelve Months of Sunday (Devotional)
Another example:
- Connections series is a Bible Commentary
but the same texts in:
- Ancient Christian Devotional is a Calendar Devotional
- Come Follow Me is Devotional
Please add the necessary indexing to make all these resources work together smoothly.
Because this interferes with the functioning of the program, I am labeling this a bug rather than a suggestion.

Hi, MJ. Long time! Is the issue here that you're not able to make the collection rule in the way you want because the resource types are inconsistently applied, or is this interfering with the operation of parallel resources in some way? I was able to "make a collection" and "spin through" with parallel resources (if that's what you mean), but I had to build the collection rule with criteria other than resource type and Bible index (subject?) to select the resources.
You're not wrong about the categorization inconsistency; there may be some editorial reason for it, I don't know. But in terms of making the product function, it might help to see the rule you're trying to get working so we could diagnose better.0 -
My collection rule is essentially a list of series with some manually added titles. This issue is that the monographs, for example, are dropped out of the parallels list.
Some, e.g. those tagged as calendar devotional do not work as calendar devotionals nor do they appear as an option in parallel resources

Thank you, that makes sense.
As you say, titles in parallel passages are listed when they contain a milestone that is compatible with the current location. The resource type inconsistency is coincidental and not the direct cause of the feature not working as desired in the software, although the resource type categorization may have influenced what markup was applied to the books in the production cycle.
For the content team's benefit, there are several issues implied here:
- Preparing for Worship series doesn't have a Bible milestone index, but should.
- Ancient Christian Devotional series is definitely not a calendar-based devotional, title notwithstanding. (If it were, it would have "day of year" index, but it doesn't, because it's organized by lectionary dates instead — that's the determining factor.) No Bible milestone index in this one is also a book bug to fix.
- There are likely other "Devotional" or "Monograph" resources in MJ's collection that are not materially different from the majority of similar resources that have Bible milestones and are categorized as Bible commentaries.
By contrast, Twelve Months of Sunday series does have a Bible milestone index, but there's a longstanding B.A.D "broken as designed" issue that makes titles drop out of the list of parallels if they don't have any compatible milestone for the current reference. When the Bible milestones don't match, a title may still be counted as a parallel based on the lectionary date, which has its own quirks. But it's not entirely unexpected to see titles sometimes appear or disappear from the list based on lack of matching milestones. (MJ, I'm sure you've run into this before! We want to improve on this someday, but it's complicated.) Anyway, not a book bug as far as I can see.
MJ, can you share your collection publicly if you haven't already, or failing that, paste your collection rule into the thread here? That's just to save us looking through thousands of resources to do an audit if you've already compiled a thorough list.
(Please correct me where I strayed.)

This hasn't been updated in some time; I expect those that are sermons to behave as sermons not Bible commentaries.
