I have been looking for another way to manage my daily Mass intentions, and suddenly remembered Logos/Verbum offers a Daily Prayer List tool. I haven't used it in over 10 years and didn't use it extensively before, so I am thinking about giving it another try. My Google calendar and Outlook calendar are not ideal places for me to keep track of my daily mass intentions, and using a print calendar has its limitations (for example, when I travel).
I am wondering if anyone else has tried using this tool for this purpose?
I also have been looking at the tools of Verbum vs. Logos, and this seems like an obvious place for Verbum to distinguish itself from Logos, since this is an area of particularly unique Catholic application (especially for virtually all clergy and seminarians and religious brothers and sisters who use the program). Perhaps it would be as simple as renaming (for all users) the default "Daily Prayer List" to "Mass Intention List" or something like that. (While also perhaps maintaining a separate prayer list for those who want to track their other prayer requests/intentions from outside of Mass.)
If Verbum had a tool for assisting liturgists/priests/deacons/parish staff in generating the general mass intercessions ("Prayers of the Faithful"), this kind of tool would be helpful as it could auto-generate an intention with that calendar day's Mass intention. Also, there are books out there to help pastors and parish staff generate these—if Verbum offered these books through pre-pub or base packages, it would be wonderful to be able to copy/paste those intercessions into the general mass intercession document. However, this is a separate tool suggestion from the one I began writing this post about. (I am also curious if anyone out there has used Verbum to generate and print the Prayers of the Faithful for their parish/religious community?)
But back to the original suggestion. Ideally, the tool would have an option to show a monthly calendar view, so I could have an overview of all of this month's mass intentions.
And, if I wanted to use Verbum to manage my entire monastery's mass intentions, the tool would ideally have a way to manage more than one per day, while keeping each one separate. (That way, I could assign each mass intention to a different priest.)
Would anyone else in the Verbum community use a tool/tools like this?
