as you can see from the videos below, when editing text in notes using the editor we ge5 very weird behaviour. I’m using logos on the iPad 42.0.2(4).
@Joe McCune (Faithlife) could you take a look at this please?
I was unable to recreate the problem; however, I'm using an iPad Air M2 running iPadOS 18.5 and Logos 43.0.0 (beta).
Personally, when taking notes on Logos with my iPad, I use the Web App instead of the iPadOS app.
@Paul M We have an open ticket for this issue, and we are investigating further.
@Jonathan Bradley what advantage is there in web app with notes.
Auto-indenting. The iPadOS App does not auto-indent when doing an outline. ]
Here is a screenshot from the iPad app
And a screenshot from the Web app
I don’t have time right now to upload videos of it.
Ok thanks Joe
Thanks for trying. If I had to guess I think it is related to the note length, that the issue only occurs after a certain length of note it reached
@Paul M I wouldn't have thought about note length affecting the issue. I might copy and paste one of my lengthier papers into a note file to try to reproduce it.
Honestly, I think it might have to do with the floating keyboard in iPadOS, as I seem to remember an issue I had a while back with that, similar but not quite the same. On your iPad, because I cannot tell from the screen recordings that well, does it appear that the iPadOS keyboard is attached to the bottom of the screen or "floating" (for the lack of a better term) a little above it, almost like it's floating above the Logos app?
Thanks Jonathan. I don't think this is the floating keyboard as that is much smaller on the screen
Several versions ago, the keyboard on iPadOS would be the full size in Logos, but sometimes not anchored to the bottom, but more in the middle of the bottom half of the screen. You could almost see some of the app below the keyboard, even when it's at the regular size setting. I stopped using the keyboard to take notes at that time and began to take handwritten notes in the Good Notes app during sermons.
Hey @Paul M I replicated the issue on my iPad with Logos v.43 beta. I did it with the iPad virtual keyboard as well as with my Apple Magic Keyboard. It only happened when doing the “…” on a long note. I pasted in a 30 something page paper into a note and tested it in the middle.
I’m glad @Joe McCune (Faithlife) and Co. are looking into this. Thank you!
