- Description:
I recently tried to export a lot of notes. On screen the list of notes shows the Book, Chapter, Verse and Bible Version of each note, but the export files are lacking this data.
Steps to Reproduce:
- open the Notes tab
- Type: select Notes
- Notebook: select a topic
- click on the 3-dot menu and select "Print/Export"
- choose PDF or Richt Text Format
- open the document
- see that the Book, Chapter, Verse and Bible Version of each note is missing
Expected Result:
To have a properly formatted document which includes the Book, Chapter, Verse and Bible Version of each note.
Actual Result:
In the exported file (pdf or rtf) all the scripture references are missing.
Partial Workarounds:
The only way to see the scripture reference for those existing notes seems to be to manually add an additional "Reference Anchor" to each note before export, but even then the source Bible Version is not shown. It is even worse for notes attached to regular books, as no page numbers are shown anywhere and I cannot even find a way to add a meaningful "reference".
I cannot believe that currently people have to manually edit hundreds or possibly thousands of notes just to be able to get a partially usable Notes export. How do others currently work around this issue?
I actually get a more usable version of the notes by letting ChatGPT convert the screenshot to Markdown, but this does not scale beyond maybe 10 notes.
Severity:
Severe, as the exported notes arte unusable without that data. This issue seems to have been ignored for many years. I have seen bug reports for Logos 6 relating to this issue from over 11 years ago and I cannot believe, that this has not been fixed or improved somehow.
Am I missing something here and I just have to change a setting somewhere?
