This tool has conversion to dollars (for those of us in the USA). Is it adjusted for inflation? Example: Right now the conversion for 1 denarius is $8. But someday that will be out of date. How often is this part of the tool updated?
Last updated 2023 according to its Info page, but that may not relate to your query. The conversion could be as ancient as 2014.
Not really directly related but this got me thinking … so this always puzzles me, should the value be taken at the numerical facet or the power of purchasing? or does it matter?
For example: 2000+ years ago 30 denarii can support 1 month of livelihood in average. 2000+ years later 3000 USD can support 1 month of livelihood in average.
For example:
2000+ years ago 30 denarii can support 1 month of livelihood in average.
2000+ years later 3000 USD can support 1 month of livelihood in average.
but the time and inflation grows in parallel…so does it mean that the numbers meant nothing? The essence is the same only the number changes, hmm… maybe I need some economy class… hope I'm making sense .
Given that 1 denarius = ancient Roman daily wage (for c. 6 hours), will 30 denarii support for one month and how many people are being supported? The equivalence is usually based on wages, where 1 denarius = $US 43.50

At least for the site, using minimum wage, rule of thumb, about 40% of minimum wage ($8+). That works out to $20k/year per worker.
But another article noted deficit spending was achieved by successive reductions in silver in each denarius. Not an easy equation.

A pop-up dictionary and grammar reference appears when holding the cursor over a word in a biblical text. Is there a way to increase the size of the font. The default is much to small to use in class.
I am in Australia, and most seminars are in the middle of our night. Once i am registered, i am told that i will be able to access a recording of the seminar. Bibleworks allowed users to choose from portions of the Bible that had descriptive headers. Example: Exodus 2:1 - Birth and Youth of Moses Logos only lists chapters with no descriptive headings. How can I get the same function that Bibleworks offered in Logos?
