Verse number placement in mobile

On mobile (Galaxy S25+) most of my bibles are vs by vs but it takes up 1rd of the real estate. I can't figure out how to fix this.

*Update*

My friend says on his iPhone he has the same issue and that's why he's not using certain translations cause he don't have a computer to change settings.

Here is the difference.

I just want that margine of space to be filled with scripture so it's easier to read. I only read from LSB currently.

Most modern Bibles are presented with paragraphs. The LSB is "verse by verse" only. Logos does not have a paragraph version of it.

On the LSB website, they mention that their "publishing plans include" a paragraph version, but that was written in 2021… so they may have already done so.

As is, the LSB formatting is consistent with the other "verse by verse" formatted bibles:

Those who prefer "verse by verse" are very particular about how they want it formatted. It sounds like you would like the paragraph version so that the margins would be equal on both sides.

There are some bible translations which are formatted that way. However, for most translations, you can control this. In "View Settings" (Aa icon), select "reformat text" and make sure that "one verse per line" is turned off.

There is no setting on mobile (android) to do that.

The Bible in your screenshot is a "one verse per line" format. There is no option (even on desktop) to make this paragraph formatted. Desktop provides an option to display paragraph formatted Bibles in a "one verse per line" format, but not the other way around.

Andrew - I looked in "view settings" for the NASB, which is formatted "verse by verse/one verse per line" and the setting options are still there. I am running app version 44 on iOS 26 (beta).

I'm not familiar with the mobile software, but at least on desktop, the NASB 95 edition that is one verse per line also has the option for "one verse per line", but turning that off doesn't change the Bible to paragraph formatting. That was my point.

All Bibles are either paragraph formatted or one verse per line formatted. Both have an option for "one verse per line". That option only turns a paragraph formatted Bible into a one verse per line formatted Bible. Nothing can make it go the other direction.

@JT (alabama24) this list as seen in this thread is the best that I am aware of. However, it is not restricted to mobile features, is one year outdated, and does not include all subscription plans, like Logos Plus.

Does anyone else use Android to help diagnose this issue for James? Andrew is right that the original screenshot seems to show a line by line translation, but his newest screenshot does not seem to show that.

I tested many Bibles on Android (also one verse per line) and did not find any where Reformat text in View Settings was absent. Only when I accessed View settings from non-Bibles did I encounter its absence.

I am not asking for a paragraph version guys. I am asking why does the number verses take up half the screen? They should be pushed back to the margin line. This is crazy annoying.

Hello, I am not asking for information pertaining to the desk top, I'm an expert when it comes to the desktop Software.

I am asking about mobile. Which I am also an expert at but can't seem to figure out this problem so I came to the forum's.

As for the vs by vs, and paragraph, I am not asking any questions pertaining to that.

I know my translation is verse by verse.

I want to push the verse numbers back to the margin so I can read the bible how it's ment to be read not like this.

Your original post was not clear, but I understand now.

We ask questions to help determine what the issue might be. After all, if you knew what the issue was, you wouldn't be asking! You didn't answer which Bible translation you were using. Although that still might be needed, I think that the issue relates to what I mentioned above. Knowing that you have a subscription is helpful, but what version of the app are you using?

One of your screenshots indicates that you are using the LSB. The first screenshot shows what I get with the "default" settings. The second is what I get when I turn on the "Bible Text Only" options. My second screen shot looks similar to yours, but I don't understand why you don't have that option.

If you want to troubleshoot, please provide more information.

Does not work. I removed the verse numbers as you said and it's the same.

If your screenshots are the same resolution and size, then they are different (but perhaps not as much as what you'd like).

For clarification: You want to keep "one verse per line" but you want things shifted further to the left so that the margin is smaller. Is that right?

I do not believe there is any way to make the margin smaller than it is in your screenshot @James Johnson. The only difference between your LSB and mine is that your text size is larger.

Yeah I could care less about if it's vs by vs or not. That's not the problem, just the formating is making it awkward.
