There are some solid scientific explanations for the phenomenon, but they would be out of place here.
The theological reasons are well-stated in scripture…most of which you can pick up in the first third of Genesis.
I expect other types of explanations would fall under Dt. 29:29, but again, that's not something that belongs in the forums, per se.

I have been trying to find a way to do a word search that indicates the number of occurrences but do not know how, can anyone help me do that?
