Image generation in Logos?

I had Gemini make this image for me based on a Bible passage (guess that Bible passage). It did a pretty good job after I gave it more historical context for the passage. Actually, the instructions were written by Claude after it told me that it doesn't generate images, and that I could use the instructions to input into an image generator like DALL-E. I asked it to "create a historically realistic image that captures the essence of Acts 8:26-38", and Claude wrote up a detailed description that I then copy/pasted into Gemini.

Then it dawned on me, what if I could have done all of this in Logos? What if I could input or even highlight a biblical passage and it could generate an image for me to include in sermon slides, a Bible study document, a note, or the Canvas tool? 🤔 Just a thought…

That's a cool picture. I would personally rather not see FaithLife put their development resources into generating images, though. It's certainly something they could do, I suppose, but there are other tools out there that already do it just fine, and there's nothing about it that's uniquely linked to the Logos library system. I use Google, Wikipedia, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel - but have no desire to either replace any of them with Logos or access them through Logos. I view image generation in a similar way. Using a separate software platform doesn't cause any problems for me, and there are other things that FaithLife could do to improve Logos that I believe would be much more useful.

I too would rather see this sort of thing kept out of Logos. As a Max Subscriber I have not really seen any new tools for Max users outside of the AI focussed searching. That is fine and I have no doubts will continue to be enhanced but what I am interested in is studying the original languages and theology. And enhancements / new tools to Logos to assist in these tasks have been glaringly lacking. While everyone continues to fall at the feet of AI and only ask for Logos to replicate what other AI tools do the real thing for which Logos was originally about is remaining stagnant because its turning into just another AI tool. And if all I am paying for in a Max Subscription is just another AI tool there may come a day when I and other users who want Logos to be a tool for bible study will start questioning what value there is in having a Max Subscription.

I think people should realistically stop looking to Logos for advances in technology. Logos is not a producer of AI technology, they have made themselves a reseller of someone else’s technology, no doubt with a large profit. Their primary motive now is cutting costs and boosting profits. They just sold off Lexham. Who knows what will be on the chopping block next. Why in the world would anyone want to become more dependent upon a company that wants you to rent the software needed to utilize your purchased resources?
