How to search for text?

Note turning match all forms on/off has no effect on the results - either because I am scanning German texts or because of a bug.

A text search for "Ru 1" OR "Ru 2" was run because there is a personal book I downloaded that failed to link these in a German personal book. I deliberately am using a text search rather than a Bible search to find the error. However, it is returning "Rut 1" OR "Rut 2" which is NOT what I requested of the precise search..

Precise Searches find Bible references if your query text is interpretable as a reference. This is by design.

To disable that feature, search for text:"Ru 1"

I think @Bradley Grainger (Logos) was suggesting that you use the term text: before the actual search string.

The issue is not the text search (I must admit I wasn't aware of the fact that Logos interprets a phrase search inside quotes and will exchange the text with a bible reference, and I didn't know of [or recalled] the text: search parameterto suppress that). The issue is with the table of which bible book abbreviations are recognized in which language by the PB compiler. Ru 1:3 is not recognized by the PB compiler to be a reference to Ruth 1:3 in the German language, whereas in English it is.

Any quoted phrase that can be parsed as a Bible reference and has at least a chapter number specified will always be parsed as a Bible reference, even when enclosed in quotes. To search for places where a passage is mentioned by reference, the text: keyword is required.

That is what I was trying to prove in order to show that the Help function on recognized abbreviations needed to be provided for each language …
