Logos, how do you determine if something is a sidebar or a panel?

I had erroneously assumed that a sidebar was tightly bound to a panel and that a panel was independent except for consciously added/definitional links. Therefore, I expected all 3 to be called sidebars. What is the distinction that you are making here?

I'm still fairly new to Logos so I could be off the mark, but I thought that a sidebar (using Insights as an example) was opened in an existing tab, where a panel could be a standalone tab, like Cited By or Explorer. But I don't have many other examples to support that this is consistent usage of the terminology.

I think you are right @Pat Ryder which I think is where @MJ. Smith is querying regarding panel for Insights
