Copy and Paste from Logos to MindManager does not include reference citations
This may have come up before, but I couldn't find it.
I frequently copy text from Logos to MindManager using the Windows clipboard copy/paste. When I do this the paste into MindManager, it never includes the reference citation, yet my clipboard viewer shows that the reference is on the clipboard.
My work-around is to first paste into Notepad, then copy and paste from Notepad into MindManager however this gets to be time consuming when I'm doing a lot of research. Plus this does not work if I want to keep the Greek or Hebrew.
I've talked to MindJet (author of MindManager) and they don't seem interested in solving the problem. They say they can't be compatible with everyone else. (So they don't see too many Logos users.)
Why does this happen in the first place? There must either be some separator between the text and the reference citation or something different between the two that causes MindManager to not see the citation as part of the text. Does anyone know what that is? If I knew, perhaps I could convince MindJet (or Logos) to do things slightly differently. Perhaps this affects copy/paste into other programs as well?
Added: I looked at the pasted text in a programming editor that showed me the hex. All I saw was a <cr><lf> separating the text from the citation which seems harmless, so I guess the problem must be on MindManager's end. I assume that on a MAC there would only be a <lf>. I'm just poking around to see if I can recommend something concrete to one vendor or another.

I risk attempting to teach you how to suck eggs here, but as I don't know what you know, or don't, I'll take a risk ...
Its common for a Windows program to paste multiple different formats of the same content into the Windows Clipboard. E.G. A program might add it as RTF, plain Ascii, an image, etc ...
Then, for an application that accepts a "paste", they take the most advance one they can support.
I dont know if Logos4 pastes multiple formats. Maybe RTF and plain text anyway.
(In Word, I see a paste from Logos4 offering RTF, HTML and plain unformatted Unicode, but I don't know if Logos4 placed all three, or if Word is doing some of the magic.)
I don't know your MindManager product, but rather than a simple paste, see if the menu supports any kind of "paste as" like Microsoft Word does. Its possible that its using the RTF one, but getting it "wrong", but Notepad is taking the plain ascii version.
In short, if you can select which version MindManager pastes, you might be able to skip the Notepad steps.
This is just some ideas for you to explore, in the hope its helpful to you.

Well we have a miracle here [:D] After years of using a work-around, sometime since my last post in this thread I noticed that I can copy almost anything out of Logos 4 into MindManager 8 and have the reference appended without going through the extra steps I mentioned above. I hope this isn't one of those things that goes away as soon as you mention them. If not, thank you someone at Logos [}]<-[Hug]

I'm using MindManager Pro 7 - it was the first version to fully support Logos (L3 and L4) hyperlinks. I haven't used this feature recently though so not sure if L4 and MM8 still play happily together.

Can you give me an example of what you mean by supporting Logos hyperlinks?

Click on the book icon at top of left of resource panel and choose Copy Location as URL.
In mind manager select a topic and add a hyperlink from the toolbar, paste in the link. Make sure you set the path to absolute not relative.
You now have a clickable link in your mindmap to that article/passage etc in Logos.
