I used the highlight panel to change the color of the text. I want to change it back to black but I can't find a way to do that.
You delete the highlight in the book e.g. right-click any word, choose "Selection", select "Delete Notes and Highlights".
Thank you, Dave. I'm familiar with what you suggest, but my problem is after I delete the highlight the text stays orange. And I can't find any option to change it to black. It's not one of the offered text colors.
Can you post a screeeshot showing the highlight?
It sounds like it might not be a highlight, but being generated in some other way, and the screenshot might help to determine that.
I can change the text color to any choice in the highlight panel, but no option for black.
@Tim Olson I can change the text color to any choice in the highlight panel, but no option for black
You should not have to highlight text to get its default color. Check Formatting > Show Visual Filters (disable all) and Notes > Show Notes and Highlights (disable "From other books….").
Thanks Dave. I got rid of the orange text when I went to
Notes > Show Notes and Highlights
(disable "From other books….").
I unchecked "No other book" box in the "From other books with corresponding text"
It got rid of the orange but it also got rid of all the other highlights from my NIV2011 Bible (where the highlight originated), but can live with that.
Thanks again.
This is very helpful! I have been plagued by a similar problem but after scrolling to notes and highlights was able to unclick highlighting which removed the orange text as well.

Not the same issue as you have effectively removed the highlight style from a highlight. Why did you not delete the highlight note (Acts 28:23 - Rom 2:17) as it is now invisible in the bible?

When I manually click "new note" with the mouse, the text cursor will immediately go to the note and I can start typing. However, if I press "N" on the keyboard, it will open notes and go to the search bar. Is there a reason for this? How can I stop it if it's not useful? Result 1: Clicking new note sends me to the note…
Is it better to anchor multiple commentaries to one note, or create multiple notes with anchors to one verse? E.g. In the below example, I could add other commentaries to the note and thus have 1 note that has all the commentaries anchored and my comments below. OR would it be better to keep them separate and have a note…
