Yesterday we quietly released a brand new approach to Logos for Church. We’ll be drawing more attention to it very soon.
I wanted to briefly outline for you all what’s new and invite you to share your feedback on how it lands with you, which will inform how we talk about it and where we take it in the future.
There are four key differences compared to what we released last year, which really just amounted to a bulk discount for Logos subscription licenses for church leaders.
1. For Everyone: Logos for Church now comes with enough licenses for all your leaders (Pro) and attendees (Plus). It’s no longer just about equipping your leaders to do better study and prepare and deliver better sermons and messages. It’s also about helping everyone who wants to better understand Scripture to dig in and go deeper. It truly is Logos for Church now.
2. More Affordable: We don’t want cost to be a barrier, so we’ve worked really hard to price Logos for Church in a way that makes it within reach for virtually any church. The value you’ll get through equipping your leaders should be compelling all by itself. The opportunity for others in the congregation to enjoy Logos as well is a very big cherry on top.
3. Free Trial: We understand that in most churches these kinds of decisions don’t sit with a single individual and therefore take time to work through the process. To make it easier to see the value for yourself—and show the value to others who need to sign off on the decision—we’ve introduced a 30-day free trial, where you can test drive the new Admin Portal and invite others to access Logos or help to administer your group.
4. Aligned Roadmap: Most importantly, our vision for Logos for Church goes far beyond just a really great deal on Logos subscriptions. We want to ensure that we’re solving the most important problems that churches have in the realm of biblical literacy and discipleship, and that goes beyond the individual use cases we’ve focused on for years. After numerous surveys, interviews, and other discovery work, we’ve put together a roadmap to ensure that what we’re building will make Logos for Church not just a package but a platform that enables discipleship—for both leaders and learners—in a way that’s intentional, measurable, and impactful.
a. Group reading plans: Enabling churches to read the Bible and good Christian books together is at the top of our list. The teams are working on it now, and we’re excited to get it into your hands in the coming months. We want to make it easy to establish and maintain daily habits of engagement with the Word—together.
b. Simplified mobile experience: We understand how critical the mobile app is to serving regular churchgoers well. We’re deep in the exploratory phase of how we can make Logos even more accessible to the broader market without losing its power for those who need professional-level tools. We’re really excited to define, in concert with our users, how our mobile app can drive more depth for everyone.
c. Sermons and sermon-based Bible studies: On the list next is beginning to lay the rails for connecting the congregation to the church’s preaching ministry as well as to Bible studies that get derived from sermons and extend the impact of the sermon beyond Sunday morning and into the week in personal or family contexts and in small groups. Our hope is to turn these often one-time materials into durable archives that can deliver insight and impact for years to come.
d. The content platform for all your digital content needs: On the content side, alongside all this software development work, we want to make it easier than ever to find and deploy content for your church’s various ministry needs, with curated recommendations based on denomination, maturity level, etc. and attractive bulk discounts to make your ministry dollars go further.
Beyond this, we have a long ideas list that includes group prayer lists, better support for audio, video, and courses, better document sharing and collaboration, indexing your church’s sermons, Bible studies etc. and integrating them into Study Assistant and Smart Search, allowing your church to stand up a curated digital bookstore and a shared library with check out and check in, distributing your church’s content (beyond sermons and Bible studies) to your congregation, enabling more seamless collaboration on the sermon calendar, and a lot more—all of which we’d love to get to eventually—if our new approach to Logos for Church is met with strong reception.
Now to the questions we’d love to have your direct feedback on:
Q1. How does the new Logos for Church land with you?
Q2. Can you see your church subscribing? If not, why not?
Q3. What’s the one thing that would make Logos for Church a no brainer for your church?
We’d love to hear feedback from everyone, regardless of your role at your church. But specifying your role will help us contextualize your feedback appropriately.
Thank you!
